Field Report: How large is the community? Using Magic to DV

Man, something is messed up with my sleep cycle, i haven't had a good
night sleep in ages and its messing up my head! its bloody 1am and i
have to be up at 6 to go to work! and i have a press briefing to do
tomorrow! i'm gunna look fucking awful for my day in front of the
cameras! shite!

but on with the show -

This evening i got a call off an old Uni mate of mine that i haven't
spoken to in ages. he asked me whether I had a gf and I mentioned I
hadn't but that i had improved my skills something ridiculous over
the past few months since i'd been reading about seduction. all i had
to do was mention Neil and he knew exactly what i was on about and that
he's been following RJ for some time now, ever since studying for his
psychology degree. he told me about a few mates down on the UK south
coast who are into SS but are having real problems in even #closing.
So, he's gunna come down and visit so we can learn some stuff off each
other (him being SS and me conventional seduction - ie. non-NLP).

It got me thinking, as I was lying in bed staring up at the ceiling,
just how many guys out there have at some point, come across the
seduction community? Then, all of a sudden something struck me like a
bolt of lightening.

I remembered back a few years ago (about 2003) when I was an officer in
the army, there was this captain who I never got on with (and him being
more senior to me, this didn't make my life any easier!). he even
told me straight once that he thought I was 'bloody boring' and I
probably was, but I didn't think much of him either.

He was nuts about magic tricks and had this ability to go up to any
woman and start doing tricks for her - now I can recognise it, was
this MM before the release of The Game?

He wasn't very good though, and now I look back, he was really just
an AFC who learnt magic. We were out one night, doing what soldiers do,
getting drunk and telling rude jokes. I was a very quiet junior officer
and would let the captains lead the way. I watched as Captain Magic
looked over his shoulder, spotted a 2 set of HB7s and left us. I
remember thinking he must be some sort of genius to be able to do that.
He was with them for ages, showing them magic tricks and chatting until
we decided to rain on his parade.

We got there and I remember being astounded by the things he said to
the HBs. I now know that they were negs, which didn't really seem to
be working, they just kinda looked funny at each other and ignored him.
Every now and then Capt Magic would show another magic trick, we would
all look on politely and then we'd try to guess how he did it.

It didn't work though, after sitting there for a few minutes (and
Capt Magic putting me down some) I felt a something rub against my leg,
I looked up and the HB sitting next to Captain Magic was looking right
at me, playing footsy. I was bloody astonished, especially when she
went to the ladies, came back and sat next to me. The other officers
were as fucking shocked as me when she kissed me right in front of
everyone. All Captain Magic could do was neg us both. If I had known
what to do, I could probably have F-Closed here and taken her back to
the barracks (awesome!), but I hadn't a clue then, so I got her
number and never saw her again.

That didn't help my professional relationship the Captain Magic any
either!

But my point is, he was putting to practice MM, but failing dismally. I
can see now that the magic didn't help. Presumably he was using it to
DV, but that totally failed, it was boring to the HBs who weren't
bothered, to them it was just some gimmick and he was a looser for
learning all those tricks. By doing that he was actually reducing his
value to the point that his negs lost all their potency.

My point is: Magic can be good to open and to gain initial value, but
don't try to over use it. If your audience is wrong, it just looks
boring and gimmicky.

Also, if your value is sufficiently low and you fail to raise it
through demonstration, your negs will not have the affect that they
should, they just get brushed off as a nuisance coming from a dork.

If this is bollox, its because I can barely see straight... need to
sleep...
