Don't users have to INDEMNIFY ISPs against LAWSUITS?

Couldn't an ISP sue one of its users if the user violated the user
agreement, say by defaming someone, and someone sued the ISP instead of the
user?

This would apply if ISP immunity did not, of course.

If so, your ISP might be the first to do it.

Anyone could sue anyone, Ray, as you seem to know.

Whether they'd *win* is another question. What makes you think there is
a right to indemnification? Is there a statute that provides this
right? Is it spelled out in the contract between the user and ISP?
Where do you get it from?

Agreed. Parker has spewed more libel, death threats, lies, defamation,
and probably used his ISP account for more pretexting (which, when it
comes to usenet's most famous crybaby, is a whole 'nother story...

Which is why he is so impotent. He KNOWS he has lost,
can not even remember his past posting history, nor has
the ability to defend it. I saved reams of paper from ISPs
that said (and I QUOTE..from an ISP as big as Comcast)

"..please stop using our service to deal with Mr. Parker,
because we are so tired of dealing with this asshole.."

I found services who protect my right to free speech, and grp-ie's
rights too. Bring AOL and their chat log records in..Juno, anybody..?

..9/11..? After all, he say's he was "..jesus..".... !!!!!

Here's a little taste of the old days..

The ISP could certainly file suit even if no one sued the ISP.
This doesn't mean the ISP would win, of course.
