How is one an anti-mormon AND an apologist?

It seems that on this very newsgroup I have been referred by Red and
others as "anti-mormon", and also by John Manning as "apologist."
Interesting that both terms should be applied to me. At this point I
am left complimented for, based on that fact, I must be neutral (1 - 1
= 0).

I suggested in one post only that you are "beginning to act like a
Mormon apologist" the way you were attempting to change the subject we
were discussing to avoid the obvious. I take you for your word that, as
you stated, you are agnostic.

There was no change in the subject. You stated that polygamy is
illegal and therefore should be prosecuted. I showed that
homosexuality is also illegal in Texas, yet I don't see any
homosexuals being "rounded up" for prosecution for their illegal acts.

Also of note is actions that define us. If I "acted" as apologist,
then I am one. I have been accused of the same on the ng before you
stated such.

I also agree that the CPA can be in fact a nusance and unfortunatedly,
if someone has a grudge against you they can call CPS with a lie, since
names of the caller don't have to be given TO the CPS, nor BY the CPS
and a paren't (if innocent) has do defend him/herself against a unknown
accuser.

Having said this, there are so many abuses which are and will never be
reported.

In the FLDS case, they obviously took it quite serious in view of their
leader Warren Jeff's conviction, that these things indeed are happening
in that cult.
At least the kids are safe from their preditors and I pray, will come to
learn, that they're not required to practice polygamy and be maried off
to old men to enter heaven or damned if they don't.
This fear and practice in itself is abuse and more so than physical as
it can't be seen on the outside.

What two consenting adults do in private is much different than coercing an
underage girl to sexually service and old man she is not in love with, has
no relationship with and has no other choice but to flee to a world she has
been taught to fear.

How can they when the very founder of their religion practiced it?
