My sister Starla and I jumped at the offer by our parents of a new
life
in Florida.
When we arrived at our new home in Eustis, I learned that the folks
had
arranged for themselves to occupy one room and my sister and I,
another
room. I didn"t immediately think much about the arrangement.
After a full day of sight-seeing, we headed back to our house, but I
lagged behind the rest of the group, stopping by the beach-side bar
for a
couple of drinks before retiring for the evening. By the time I made
it
up to our room, Starla was already in bed.
The next day, we decided to spend the day at the beach. I was
completely
stunned when sis started changing into her bikini right in front of
me. I
had never really thought of her in a sexual manner, but when she
dropped ...

In many parts of America, there is a very strong anti-French sentiment
that is for the most part based on error and misconception. This essay
seeks to correct those mistakes.
The French thought formed the basis of American democracy. American
Revolution and its founding principles was the expression of French
18th century thought known as “French Enlightenment,” and the French
saw America as the embodiment of their ideals, whereas the English saw
America as a province of ungrateful traitors. The French provided
crucial assistance to American Revolution, and without their help -
both informing the Independence and assisting the Revolution - America
would not have existed as what it is and likely would not have existed
at all. So before Americans speak about “saving French’s ass,” it
behoves them to look back to what, and who, made it possible for
America to exist as a country - and what, and who, sustained America
through its darkest times.
There are many who call the French cowards and sneer at their supposed
military weakness. Lest we forget, France had Napoleon over a century
before Germany had Hitler, and Napoleon conquered a comparable...

2008 needs a mariachi rickroll.
I see a great need.
If I'd thought of it earlier, I would have asked the management of
the Food City to make sure they hired a band that knows it.
Food City is our marketed-to-Hispanics brand of supermarket.
Plorkwort has been to one.

I've been thinking of posting such a message in the Google Groups Help
Forum, but before I claim to be speaking for all of you, maybe I
should see if anybody ACTUALLY agrees with me.
'Cuz Google wants to be friendly and easy to use, while usenet is for
surly nerds* . Just look at the GG Help Forum, and you'll see tons of
whining posts from people who obviously have no idea which end of
Google is which.
What I'd espouse would be a reversion to the old DejaNews way of doing
things, where you could search old usenet stuff on the web, but
posting would have to be via nntp, THE WAY GOD INTENDED.
Not that I imagine Google would DO anything, mind you ...
* like, for instance, me

Apologies in advance to the horsey peoples here.
The scene is just after the finish of the Kentucky Derby, while
they're putting down what's-her-name with the broken legs. At the
rail, a father stands alongside his son, amidst the litter of
thousands of losing betting slips.
The father puts his hand on the son's shoulder and says, 'See what
happens when you finish second?'
