I cannot find my email archive for him, and I cannot remember where
(in general) he lives. Anyone know? Adam wrote to ask if I've heard
from him and I haven't. I am trying not to think the unthinkable, but
I am very worried. No response from any of his email addys or his web
site.

Will you mind my cooter while I'm away?

Dawnf stopped at a pet store today to buy dehydrated worms and turtle
chow and the like for our turtle and our fish. The pet store guy who
rang up her purchase noticed that Dawne was buying turtle food, and he
started chatting with her about turtles.

This guy claims to be a "licensed herpetologist," whatever that means,
and he told Dawne that any time she had to go on vacation or for some
reason leave the cooter by itself, he was available to take care of
the turtle in her absence. He said he charges only $30 a week for
this service.

Since he also told Dawne that he only feeds his own turtles at most
twice weekly, I have to wonder what other services he provides for the
cooters left in his tender loving care.

Oh, he gave Dawne his business card:

Can you count the strikes against this mother?

I count at least three (3).

Poor fucking kids deserve better.

Mom briefly left him alone: neighbor

A 2-year-old Gary, Ind., boy was killed when he was hit by a train
next to his home Thursday afternoon.

Ryan Watson suffered blunt force trauma, according to the Lake County
coroner's office.

Watson lived at Village Mobile Home Park with his mother and 14-year-
old brother. A Canadian National train was heading west on tracks that
run along the park, near Ridge and Cleveland.

Neighbor Duane Denisiuk said the mother had gone inside the trailer
for just a few seconds(1) and couldn't find Ryan when she came out.

"I looked on the other side of the trailer, where I thought he would
be playing with the dog,"(2) Denisiuk said. "Then I heard the train
screech to a halt, and his grandfather screamed, 'Oh my god, no! It's
my baby!' "

Denisiuk ran up to the tracks. "There were these big blue eyes looking
up at me," he said. "I knew there was nothing I could do."

  Conversation with Eddie-Dog: Napkin

Author: Lots42
Date: May 2, 2008 05:00

Eddie-Dog: Hey.
Me: What?
Eddie: Let me have that napkin.
Me: This napkin?
Eddie: Yes.
Me: It has nothing on it. There was a turkey sandwhich on it, but this
napkin itself has no turkey or sandwhich.
Eddie: It is very important I have that napkin.
Me: Seriously?
Eddie: Yes, please give me the napkin now.
Me: Okay, here you go.
Eddie: Fank oo.
Me: Weirdo.
Eddie: Nom, nom, nom. Napkin tearing is fun!

Yabbut the output is approximately 88%% oxygen by weight, so we really
ought to call it an "oxyant".
