Author: Carl
Date: Jul 13, 2008 21:29

The following sermon from Ron Ritchie teaches Biblically on three aspects of
Paul: appointed as preacher, apostle and teacher. Ron also shows from the
Bible how the Holy Spirit developed Paul's gifts. Ron Ritchie also points
out that the Holy Spirit has brought all Christians various spiritual gifts
that He wants us to use for His Glory.

May God bless,
Carl

APPOINTED A PREACHER, APOSTLE AND TEACHER
by Ron Ritchie

One day in 1962 while I was pursuing a graduate degree at Dallas Theological
Seminary, I went to one of my professors, Howard Hendricks, to ask him what
I would be when I graduated. Engineering schools...

A warning against the clear teachings of the Messiah that you have now
labeled a "Legalist".

While I often appreciate Bible teaching and sermons by MacArthur and
Swindoll, I think that there is more to be gained from the Scriptures
on the subjects of law and grace than mere argument. I am certainly
free from the law, so far as any legal constraints (that is, I am free
from the law so long as I am following the Holy Spirit). On the other
hand, I as a Christian believer do need the clean and clear teaching
of God that is to be found in the Law.

Christ In Combat: Defense By The Spirit

Author: Carl
Date: Jul 13, 2008 18:48

Although the parts about computers is dated, the Biblical message in John
Piper's sermon is indeed timeless. Sure, we computer users, especially us
old-timers, get a chuckle reading about "tri-color" monitors and the like
but the real joy is God's Word in the Biblical lesson John Piper preaches. I
hope you will take the time to read it and perhaps think about how the
Biblical points Piper raises apply to your life.

Freedom From The Bondage Of The Law

Author: Carl
Date: Jul 13, 2008 18:36

This John Calvin sermon deals with legalism and the freedom from it when our
faith is in Jesus Christ. This timeless sermon is just as applicable today
as it was when it was originally preached. This is one of those sermons that
is required reading in many Christian seminaries.

May God bless,
Carl

Freedom From The Bondage Of The Law
by John Calvin

Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? For it
is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a
freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he
of the freewoman was by promise. Which things are an allegory: for these are
the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage,
which is Agar. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to
Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem
which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. - Gal. 4:21-26

Freedom is such a desirable thing to every one of us, that without it our
lives would be little more than a living death, or at the very least,
perpetual misery. Indeed, so far as we are able, we flee...

Grace And Justification
by Robert Traill

Sermon One in a series of six sermons on Galatians 2:21.

"I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law,
then Christ is dead in vain." - Gal. 2:21.

The scope of the apostle Paul in this epistle, is to reprove the church that
he writes to, for a great and sudden apostacy from that faith of the gospel
that they were planted in. The apostle Paul himself...

A View Of God's Glory
by C.H. Spurgeon

"And he said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory."-Exodus 33:18.

That was a large request to make. He could not have asked for more: "I
beseech thee, show me thy glory." Why, it is the greatest petition that man
ever asked of God. It seems to me the greatest stretch...

Signs of a true church given in scripture.

Author: guardian Snow

Lately those who preach the doctrine of “Faith without works” have
been posted heaps around the usenet. I personally don’t bother
reading them because all the mega churches preach the same message and
I’ve listened to that clap trap the majority of my life having been
deceived by the charlatans.

Rev 16:11 And they blasphemed the Elohim of the heaven for their pains
and their sores, and did not repent of their works.

In order to manufacture this false doctrine we have to do a pretty
good editing job where we take out the entire teachings of the
Messiah, the entire old testament and every Apostle that ever met
יהושע Messiah in the flesh and stick only to the “Gospel of the
uncircumcised” written by Paul and even that they butcher.

Jas 2:14 My brothers, what use is it for anyone to say he has belief
but does not have works? This belief is unable to save him.
