  ~ Only 20+ mins: Bible Readings 22/7/008 ~

Author: 1st Century Apostolic Traditionalist
Date: Jul 22, 2008 11:18

Congratulations! to those readers who have resolutely continued with the
Daily Reading for the last six months. For they have now read half the Old
Testament, and ALL of the New.
May God bless your continued effort and dedication.

Bible Readings for Today
2 Samuel 7
Jeremiah 12
Matthew 23

For those who want to go directly to the source of this study guide,
it can be found at http://www.antipas.org/readings/readings.html

It takes normally between 20-30 mins per day depending on one's reading
speed.
It will be found many unanswered questions which may have seemed puzzling
and "Hard to be understood" are slowly and precisely answered as the Bible
is methodically read through day after day.

Here is a helpful link for anyone who either does not have a Bible to
hand, or might prefer reading from their computer, or might want to compare
different translations, or even read non-English versions:

Well since "modern Pentecostalism" is really that OLD TIME RELIGION
that was from the time of the birth of Jesus Christ and the New
Testament, just now bring back what was and reestablishing what the

Why would anyone want to save a person that does not want to be saved,
all that person would do is undo it and keep trying to stay unsaved.
Only a idiot would save someone that refuses to be saved. God is much
smarter then you if you think you have a point that any normal
rational person would agree with. It is a shame that you waste your
energy in posting such silly statement, seems you do not even think
what you posting, and if you did, there is something really wrong with
you.

In the following sermon George Whitefield preaches on the topic of profane
cursing and swearing taking Matthew 5:34 as the catalyst for his sermon.

The Heinous Sin Of Profane Cursing And Swearing
by George Whitefield

Matthew 5:34, "But I say unto you, Swear not at all."

Among the many heinous sins for which this nation is grown infamous, perhaps
there is no one more crying, but withal more common, than the abominable
custom of profane swearing and cursing. Our streets...

  Fifth Amendment Christians

Author: Carl
Date: Jul 22, 2008 00:04

We, as Christians, should take opportunities to share the Gospel but in this
politically correct age we live in with the rampant, radical,
anti-Christian, secular sentiment being pushed down our throats sometimes
Christians get intimidated. However we, as Christians are called upon by God
to be bold in our faith (Prov. 28:1; Eph. 3:12) and not be lukewarm (Rev.
3:16). Billy Graham's evangelical sermon presented below preached almost 50
years ago deals in part with those afraid to witness for Christ. It is an
exhortation that is applicable today.

May God bless,
Carl

Thirsting For God
by Alexander MacLaren

My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God. - Psalm 42:2

This whole psalm reads like the sob of a wounded heart. The writer of it is
shut out from the Temple of his God, from the holy soil of his native land.
One can see him sitting solitary yonder in the...

How Important Is Church Membership?
by John Piper

1 Corinthians 12:12-31
12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of
the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For in one
Spirit we were all baptized...

  How does one know?

Author: I3
Date: Jul 21, 2008 14:27

Carl, you are verbose on this list. How does one really know that one
has been "saved"? It's more than just praying The Sinner's Prayer and
"accepting" that Jesus has "saved" one. There has to be more to this
than mere praying or mere reading words in the Bible that are for other
people at other times with little or no relevance for today. How does
one know that one is truly saved?

What did Paul teach?
He never called to accept unrepentant reprobate men and women in the Church
of God.

He denounced and forbid all preaching women in the churches, denounced all
women who refused
to veil themselves, or shave their heads, before praying to God.
Denounced and called for the excommunication of all fornicating
Heterosexuals, Sodomites and Lesbians,

Christ denounced divorced and remarried adulterers.
Does the torn apart, rent asunder, Anglican Church For Sodomites, not your
