Emerson's Demanding Optimism

Author: ao
Date: Dec 19, 2007 19:16

I picked this book up off a table at the treasure mart outside a meeting
of the other program. It is a critical analysis of the works of Ralph
Waldo Emerson. Anyone interested in reading this with me? I would
especially be interested in comparing and contrasting his optimism with
the teaching of Alexander Schmemann that optimism is a Christian heresy.

No, I have no more interest in reading with you than I would going
over the Niagria Falls in a raft with you.

Home for lunch, actually.

"Company time" is kinda fluid for me. I was negotiating with a supplier
at 11:30pm last night. I'll be spending time throughout the holidays
doing the same thing.

And if I feel like it, I'll fuck off and cruise Usenet.
