I need a small fridge for my pop-up.....

THere was a small useless ice chest by the front door of my
pop-up, it was low and side-opening. Its side-opening feature meant
that you couldn't put ice in it. It was only 19 1/2 high, as the
front slide-out has to go over it when the slide-out is stowed. So
now I need to find a refrigerator that is not over that height The
three-way power ones are nice, but not affordable, so I will just get
an AC powered one I guess. ANyone kow of a fridge that fits the bill?
I,m thinking most compact fridges are taller than that.

Then how did it keep stuff cold?

Smallest I've ever seen were 24". Is there one of those camping world type
stores near you? College kids often have tiny fridges for their dorm rooms.

I've seen these at Best Buy for around $100. I think they are around
19" tall

Target had an add in the paper for them, but no size listed.

Refrigerators usually lack the insulating qualities of modern coolers. If
you are on the road for a long time, you need to look into some way of
providing power (and air circulation) to the reefer so as to avoid food
spoilage. Keep the freezer section as full of "Blue Ice" as you can.

My wife and I camp in a trailer but I bring an ice chest along for drinks
and other overflow from the refrigerator. I usually have 6 or 8 "Blue
Ice's" along with me, depending on the anticipated weather where we'll be
camping. I'll have 3 or 4 in the freezer, getting cold, and 3 or 4 in the
cooler, keeping things cold. I'll switch them every day. Works very
well.

Another option for you might be the new thermoelectric coolers. A cousin
of mine travels with one all the time. He starts off by pre-cooling it
with "Blue Ice" (what else, huh?) and then puts a couple of them in with the
food/drinks. He says it helps to moderate the temperature as well as keep
things cooler when the weather gets hot.
