Although most property sales have gone down the tubes, there are some very strong sectors
that are still making good sales.
All you have to do is a quick keyword search in google and you will find out where the hot properties
are at the moment in the US.
I came a cross a good artice here http://articlesnarticles.com/real-estate/cashing-in-on-charlottesville-area-real...
There is still money to be made from both sellers and investors.

Sorry, my computer is doing really weird things tonight, i hope this isn't a double post
need to get a new computer :)
Prices continue to slide as record foreclosures put more homes
on the market and stricter lending standards make it harder to
get loans. Falling home values are slowing consumer spending,
threatening to halt the six-year expansion.

i saw some trivia posted the other day, thought i'd add a few things!
A small collection of real estate trivia. If you have real estate triva to share,
please send it to http://crazyrealtor.com .
The floors of buildings are called stories because early European builders
used to paint picture stories on the sides of their houses. Each floor had
a different story.
The most expensive piece of property ever recorded was in October 1988,
the Mediya Building in central Tokyo was sold for 358.5 million yen ($248,000)
per square foot.
There are almost 314,000 million-dollar homes in the United States, and 41%%
of these are located in California.
Q. Whose mansion sold for about $2 million after just one day on the market?
A. Soon after the death of George Burns his home was put on the market;
the home sold in 24 hours.
http://crazyrealtor.com
Q. Which U.S. hotel has more fountains than any other hotel in the world?
A. The Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada has more than 1,000 fountains embellishing an 11+ acre artificial lake.

When conversing with real estate agents, you will often find that when
they talk to you about buying real estate, they will refer to your
purchase as a "home." Yet if you are selling property, they will often
refer to it as a "house." There is a reason for this. Buying real estate is
often an emotional decision, but when selling real estate you need to
remove emotion from the equation.
You need to think of your house as a marketable commodity. Property.
Real estate. Your goal is to get others to see it as their potential home,
not yours. If you do not consciously make this decision, you can
inadvertently create a situation where it takes longer to sell your
property.
http://crazyrealtor.com
The first step in getting your home ready to sell is to "de-personalize" it.
