Some woman or other equated dog fights to
"crimes against humanity" in a Washington Post
editorial. And I say:
THESE ARE NOT CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY
(they are crimes against dogadity at best). It
cheapens humanity when morons like the woman
above drags down the uniqueness of "humanity"
to the level of one or other of the lower beasts.
These beasts are unconscious of their destiny
and there is nothing outside of pure physical pain
they can anguish over... like your child anguishes
over your treatment of him/her. Billions of chickens
are slaughtered every day for our dinner in a hell
of a lot more horrific ways than those of a dog fight.
And all over Asia dogs are raised and slaughtered for
food exactly like we slaughter chickens, ducks, et al.

They are crimes against humanity if "humanity" is defined
as the quality of being humane (i.e. characterized by
kindness, mercy, or compassion).

You'd like that, wouldn't you.

SDR,
Man invented gods in his own image; humans are merely upright animals
who should know better than to condition dogs to fight for amusement
of barbarians. Were Vick et al fed to hungry conditioned-to-kill pit
bulls,
I'd pay for that spectacle because the propensity to violence w/b
tempered
with the sweet satisfaction of justice for all the dogs wasted so
cruelly.
Your familial treatment of the dog you describe was disgusting. Dogs
can be
taught faster than children how to behave and where to defecate;
humans
can pick the excrement and grow great roses thereafter. Dogs need not
have fleas; treatments are not costly; dogs are dependent, but a
decent sort.
A small white corgi-type showed up abandoned near the local market two
years ago April. I put ads in the paper, we brought him to the shelter
where
all animals are killed automatically in seven days if...

Well, if they didn't complain, why are you?
Maybe they were suicidal. You don't know.
You talk to dogs and cats, you know they have
pretty much your same level of intelligence...

So! You're one of those nasty people who wants them
ripped apart for the sake of our guts? Or maybe just
to make some glue for your little kids' classes. Jees!

SDR,
Note the * humanity words below and reconsider your rejection of the
word "humanity"
because humans get it and we all hope you may get it, too...;>
Inhumane acts are wrong
and unworthy of human animals who ought know better without godly
instruction.
Give up on getting to heaven which does not exist and stop making
earth hell on
earth for those who are here, including those who espouse being humane
to non-human
animals. Kindness may rebound, SDR. Try it.

Dogs did complain, hence the charges.
I talk to you, lady, what's the difference?

No. Your conclusion is wrong.
