Israel to ban fishing in the Sea of Galilee
By GRANT SLATER, Associated Press Writer - Thu May 13, 3:40 pm ET

JERUSALEM - The Israeli government is echoing the words of
Jesus with a new ban - asking the fishermen of the Sea of
Galilee to cast aside their nets.

Jesus appealed to the fishermen to drop their work and
follow him. The Israelis, however, have a more mundane
reason - officials say a decade of overfishing has left the
aquatic population of the biblical body of water in danger.

The fishing ban will be in effect for two years, but even
afterward, no one is expecting modern times to follow
biblical history, when Jesus directed fishermen to a spot
where a "multitude of fish" nearly sank their boats.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Cabinet approved
the ban last month. Oz Goffman of the Ministry of
Agriculture said Thursday parliament must still approve the
measure before it takes effect.

Human Rights Watch says it has proof Israeli soldiers
deliberately destroyed Palestinian homes and buildings
during the 2008-09 assault on Gaza.

HRW, in its 116-page report, 'I Lost Everything': Israel's
Unlawful Destruction of Property in the Gaza Conflict, says
it has documented 12 separate cases of such during the 22-
day "Operation Cast Lead".

The report, released Thursday, said there is evidence that
Israeli forces destroyed civilian property, including homes,
factories, farms, and greenhouses, in areas under their
control although there was no fighting in that area or the
fighting had stopped.

Big Brother wants to watch you more closely. Especially how you
spend your money.
Under the new law, the government would detail "your charges at
Macy's and car payments. It would be fairly detailed information."

The breakthrough in recognizing in real time the formation and recollection
of a memory opens the door to objective, thorough memory studies and
eventually better therapies, said Dr. Joe Tsien, neuroscientist and
co-director of MCG's Brain & Behavior Discovery Institute. He is
corresponding author on the study published Dec. 16 in PLoS ONE.

More than half of the operators of power plants and
other "critical infrastructure" say in a new study
that their computer networks have been infiltrated
by sophisticated adversaries. In many cases, foreign
governments are suspected.
