I only recently got the hang of making high-scoring moves by playing
tightly like that, and I think that might also be part of why I can
win at Scrabble now, when I've never won in person.

"Top scorer" here means "played enough games with my cat to rack up a
fair number of delegates^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hpoints despite always
losing." Ah, and Balor's (my cat) young assistant informs me that
Balor is now ranked #7 in the Santa Cruz area.
