Mmmmm, envy repellent

Nothing cures alt.polycon envy like a house that smells like my
childhood.

On the stove is a big pot of beef barley soup made with roasted
bones and caramelized onions.

And I'll roast potatoes with the rendered fat for tomorrow's breakfast.

Mmmmmmm.

Oh, nice. By contrast having a chat window open with my other partner
who is already there is rather boosting my envy a bit. And I don't
even have a leisurely evening to cook in, because I'm planning to go
pick up a new microwave oven. (Ours broke Tuesday while I was trying
to reheat my breakfast of lentil soup.)

My envy-cure will be killing orcs on Saturday and brunch with my
brother Sunday (he discovered a cache of photos from my childhood in a
box of our mother's stuff at his house).

NOM NOM NOM!

My envy-repellent/enhancer will be breakfast with LisaG before her
flight leaves in the morning. Which is super bitchin' awesome, but I
know when we get to the airport I'm gonna fall on the floor, throw my
arms around her ankles and say "TAKE ME WITH YOU!!"

Well, you know you have a place to sleep if you manage to pretend to be
a carry-on bag...

Rats! If I could ftp some soup (and roasted
eggplant/onions/elephant-garlic) to you, I would. :-)

Envy-repellent for YOU! Enhancer for those of us who don't get to
have breakfast with the two of you. :-)

We have cherries, too. :-) They should be *terrible*, since it's
almost February here, and the dead of winter as far as that's
applicable in California, but they're *yummy*. Dunno where they came
from. Yum.
