Dear Admiral Fallon:

I have not been able to find out how to reach you directly, so I have drafted this letter in
the hope it will come to your attention.

First, thank you for honoring the oath we commissioned officers take to protect and defend the
Constitution of the United States from all enemies, foreign and domestic. As you are doubtless
aware, that oath has no expiration date; it remains on active duty, so to speak.

You have let it be known that, even though you are now retired, you do not intend to speak, on
or off the record, about the looming war with Iran.

You are acutely aware of the dangers of attacking Iran, but seem to be allowing an inbred
reluctance to challenge your erstwhile commander in chief to trump that oath, and to prevent
you from letting the American people know of the catastrophe about to befall us if, as seems
likely, our country attacks Iran.

Top-ranking officer warns U.S. military to stay out of politics

WASHINGTON: The highest-ranking U.S. military officer has written an
unusual open letter to all those in uniform, warning them to stay out of
politics as the United States approaches a presidential election in
which the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan will be a central, and certainly
divisive, issue.

"The U.S. military must remain apolitical at all times," wrote Admiral
Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. "It is and must
always be a neutral instrument of the state, no matter which party holds
sway."

Mullen's essay appears in the coming issue of Joint Force Quarterly, an
official military journal that is distributed widely among the officer
corps.

Israeli suspected of espionage links with Iran

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - An Iranian-born Israeli was charged in Israel on
Sunday with passing sensitive information to Iran, Israel's Shin Bet
counter-intelligence agency said.

The man was detained on May 8 and told investigators he visited the
Iranian consulate in Istanbul in 2006 and disclosed the names "of people
he knew, whom he said were serving in Israel's defense establishment", a
Shin Bet statement said.

The suspect, who was not identified, was indicted behind closed doors.

The statement did not specify the charges brought against him but said
he was suspected of contact with an Iranian agent and passing
information to Iranian intelligence.

Israel is home to tens of thousands of Iranian immigrants, many of whom
maintain ties with relatives in their native land despite almost three
decades of hostility between the Islamic Republic and the Jewish state.

In 2006, the retail chain Tesco launched the Peekaboo Pole Dancing Kit, a play set designed to
help young girls "unleash the sex kitten inside."

Perturbed parents, voicing concern that their 5-year-olds might be too young to engage in sex
work, lobbied to have the product pulled. Tesco removed the play set from the toy section but
kept it on the market.

As M. Gigi Durham points out in The Lolita Effect: The Media Sexualization of Young Girls and
What We Can Do About It, Tesco's attempt to sell stripper gear to kids is just one instance of
the sexual objectification of young girls in the media and marketplace. Some of the many other
examples include a push-up bra for preteens, thongs for 10-year-olds bearing slogans like "eye
candy," and underwear geared toward teens with "Who needs credit cards ... ?" written across
the crotch.

If they help the Chinese crack down on dissent (which they ARE
doing), and what they're doing would be illegal if they were doing it in
the US, shouldn't they be in jail?
Back when the US took it's position as "beacon of liberty"
seriously, there was an office where new immigrants could go to file a
complaint against the country from which they had came.
What would the people who manage that office (if it still exists
and has an operating budget of more than $1000.00 per annum) say if
someone migrated from China because the government had been about to put
him/her in jail for saying something like "The government pries too
much"?
Would they say "Well, we'd like to file a complaint, and
technically we could, but a lot of US corporations do big business with
China, and the Bush...

Ever since she realized back in early March that Obama was going to take the nomination Hillary
Clinton’s long-term strategy has been to do her best to ensure McCain will win this November so
she can become the Democratic nominee in 2012. But she had a short term strategy too and on
Friday she deliberately made it explicit in a newspaper office in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
There she suggested that some is likely to step up to the plate and assassinate Barack Obama in
the waning moments of the California primary, just as Bobby Kennedy was forty years go almost
to the day. The wish is mother to the deed. If anything does happen to Obama in California Mrs
Clinton should surely be indicted as a co-conspirator.

How to else construe her grotesque remarks in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in the editorial
offices of the Argus Leader newspaper. Here she told the editors, "My husband did not wrap up
the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June,
right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand
it," she said, dismissing calls to drop out.

There is no other way to construe these sentences, not thrown over her shoulder on a campaign
walk, but delivered in measured tones to the Argus-Leader editorial board, but to interpret
them as Mrs Clinton’s...
