Last chance to avoid catastrophic global warming

Author: Roger Coppock

Conference the world's 'last chance to avoid catastrophic global
warming'
12:00PM Sunday December 02, 2007
By Geoffrey Lean

Rich countries are rapidly increasing the pollution that causes global
warming to record levels - despite having solemnly undertaken to
reduce it, three devastating new official reports reveal.

Emissions of greenhouse gases and their accumulation in the atmosphere
are higher than they have ever been, and unless policies are urgently
reversed "catastrophic" climate change is inevitable, they warn.

The reports - from three separate UN organisations - form the
strongest and most authoritative condemnation of Western climate
policies yet.

They are made public as representatives of nearly 200 governments fly
into Bali, Indonesia, this weekend for the most crucial negotiations
on global warming for years.

Totally insane people tend to think they are sane. Partly insane people
think there might be something off. Which are you?

Fuel efficiency and the American driver?

Author: Tim
Date: Dec 1, 2007 21:46

IF YOU WANT FUEL EFFICIENTCY TECHNOLOGY, I GOT IT, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS
TELL THE US GOV TO GRANT ME THE PATENT, AND YOUR REGULAR GAS CARS WILL BE
CONVERTED TO 50-mpg 2-3 DAYS, LESS THEN $1,000.

Fuel efficiency and the American driver
Congress is poised to finally make cars get better gas mileage. Consumers
can expect to pay more for their vehicles but save on their gas bills.

Congress has reached agreement on a long-debated bill that will raise
fuel efficiency.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- More hybrids. More diesels. Smaller engines and
fancier technology. And an initial sticker price increase that could total a
couple thousand dollars.

  Energy Bill

Author: PolicySpy
Date: Dec 1, 2007 21:24

There's an energy bill moving forward that sets miles-per-gallon requires
for the year 2020...and that's 35 mpg.

Now some of the requirement can be offest simply by making vehicles that can
run on E85 as well as on gas. And that's dubious unless E85 vehicles get
more mileage-per-energy-consumed than gas vehicles. In other words the lower
pollution of E85 vehicles might be do to lower miles-per-gallon...and if so
then the true use of ethanol is to put oxygen in gasoline at E5 to E10.

Now one news report says that a different goal is set for each automaker and
that automakers with larger vehicles will only have to reach about 33 MPG
while automakers of smaller vehicles will have to reach 37 to 39 MPG. That's
just vague and difficult to evaluate information...but if smaller vehicles
must get better MPG than larger vehicles...and if small and large is based
on weight...then there is no incentive to achieve better MPG through weight
reduction ! For instance look at the aircraft industry and weight reduction
is one of the major fundamentals of performance improvement...

Hurricanes"?.........Well, It AIN'T
HAPPENING..........Donchaknow.........It seems the DumbAssed
"Predictors" CAN'T even predict the Weather from one day to the next,

"U.S. All but Spared by Hurricanes
Nov 27, 9:29 PM EST

MIAMI (AP)
-- Despite alarming predictions, the U.S. came through a
second straight hurricane season virtually unscathed, raising fears
among emergency planners that they will be fighting public apathy and
overconfidence when they warn people to prepare for next year."

ANY ADULT WHO HARMS A CHILD SHOULD BE BURIED AT THE BEACH
DURING LOW TIDE UP TO THEIR NECK IN THE SAND. WRAP BACON
AROUND THEIR HEADS AND DRAG UP A LAWN CHAIR AND WATCH THE
CRABS EAT THEIR EYEBALLS OUT AS THE TIDE COMES IN. HUMAN
SCUM IS WHAT IT TAKES TO HURT A CHILD. SCUM

I would not piss on them if they were on fire. I would die
for my kids. I just don't get what kind of sick evil mind
could hurt a sweet little child. PURE EVIL. May they rot in
hell for eternity
