What else can he say publicly? Most parents of these homos are in the
awkward position of supporting their child while at the same time being
totally embarrassed about the whole situation.

Mass. gov's daughter says she's gay; Dad says he's proud

BOSTON (AP) - The youngest daughter of Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick says
she's gay, but didn't come out to her parents until after lawmakers voted to
kill a proposal to outlaw gay marriage.

Katherine Patrick made the revelation public in an interview with her father
in Bay Windows, a weekly Boston newspaper aimed at the gay, lesbian,
bisexual and transgendered community.

The 18-year-old said she told Patrick and her mother, Diane Patrick, of her
sexual orientation on July 3, 2007 - about three weeks after the Legislature
voted to kill a proposed anti-gay marriage amendment to the state
constitution.

Patrick, who supports gay marriage, said he was proud of his daughter. The
two will march in Boston's gay pride parade Saturday.

Have your 'parents' seen any of _your_ work?

LC~ Certain "proud" wouldn't be in their vocabulary.

What's abnormal about proudly standing by your children?

Well, there goes *your* PFLAG membership.

"Our Kids are Fine Just the Way They Are!".

It's discouraging to think your parents can't say the same.

Embarrassment would be appropriate if you were outspoken against gay
marriage and drug use, were the leader of the National Association of
Evangelicals, and then got busted for having gay sex with a male
prostitute while snorting methamphetamine. Now THAT'S embarrassing.

Or he could actually be proud of his daughter.

I know, loving unconditionally is beyond you, but my ultra-liberal,
peacenik mother accepted and still loved me when I joined the Army to
become a professional killer.

Of course, she's a better Catholic than you.

It could be worse, you could be the Vice President and have a gay
daughter, who errr got preggers, and errrrr decided to keep the baby.

Bet that went down well at his church.

Embarrassed? I don't think so.

Do your parents know what you're like and the stuff you post? Would you
be ashamed to tell them? Do you even talk about it?
