Georgians denounce Saakashvili regime’s aggression
by Georgian Peace Committee
http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=viewArticle&code=GEO20080815&articleId...

The Georgian Peace Committee declares asks World public opinion not to
identify the current Georgian leadership with the people of Georgia,
with the Georgian nation.

Declaration of the Georgian Peace Committee

Once more Georgia was launched into a situation of chaos and
bloodshed. A new fratricidal war exploded with renewed strength on
Georgian soil.

To our great disappointment, the alerts of the Georgian Peace
Committee and of progressive personalities of Georgia on the
pernicious character of the militarization of the country and on the
danger of a pro-fascist and nationalist policy had no effect. The
authorities of Georgia once again organized a bloody war, feeling the
support of some Western countries and of regional and international
organizations. It will take decades to cleanse the shame poured by the
current holders of the power over the Georgian people.

Towards a Broader Russia-US Military Confrontation?

War in the Caucasus: Towards a Broader Russia-US Military
Confrontation?
by Michel Chossudovsky
http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=9788

During the night of August 7, coinciding with the opening ceremony of
the Beijing Olympics, Georgia's president Saakashvili ordered an all-
out military attack on Tskhinvali, the capital of South Ossetia.

The aerial bombardments and ground attacks were largely directed
against civilian targets including residential areas, hospitals and
the university. The provincial capital Tskhinvali was destroyed. The
attacks resulted in some 1500 civilian deaths, according to both
Russian and Western sources. "The air and artillery bombardment left
the provincial capital without water, food, electricity and gas.
Horrified civilians crawled out of the basements into the streets as
fighting eased, looking for supplies." (AP, August 9, 2008). According
to reports, some 34,000 people from South Ossetia have fled to Russia.
(Deseret Morning News, Salt Lake City, August 10, 2008)

The importance and timing of this military operation must be carefully
analyzed. It has far-reaching implications.

  The real aggressor is Georgia

The Real Aggressor
Georgian invasion of South Ossetia sets the stage for a wider war
http://www.antiwar.com/justin/?articleid=13285

The anti-Russian bias of the Western media is really something to
behold: "Russia Invades Georgia," "Russia Attacks Georgia," and
variations thereof have been some of the choice headlines reporting
events in the Caucasus, but the reality is not only quite different,
but the exact opposite. Sometimes this comes out in the third or
fourth paragraph of the reportage, in which it is admitted that the
Georgians tried to "retake" the "breakaway province" of South Ossetia.
The Georgian bombing campaign and the civilian casualties – if they
are mentioned at all – are downplayed and presented as subject to
dispute.

The Georgians have been openly engaging in a military buildup since
last year, and President Mikhail Saakashvili and his party have been
proclaiming from the rooftops their aim of re-conquering South Ossetia
(and rebellious Abkhazia, while they're at it). Avid readers of
Antiwar.com saw this coming. In a column entitled "Wars to Watch Out
For," I wrote:

Bleach Out On Florida Roofs Leaving Homeowners Lungs Burned By Bleached Mold

Today's post by

Daily Foreword August 19, 2008: Recently I, Kurt Brown -- Saint Ram Bone,
borrowed money to buy a home and my life was endangered due to an attempted
fraud scam that has not yet been corrected. I would recommend that my roof
be replaced quickly and that the chain of frauds by the realtor in question,
her husband, and her chosen inspector or inspectors be looked at very
closely due to the danger they pose to not only myself and my family but
other families. I would like to warn you about the new white coatings
they put on old roofs, and in particular the mold inside the attic if it is
removed with bleach to remove any proof of leaks by corrupt inspectors or
realtors husbands or their associates.

On June 5, 2008, I went to look at a home in Pensacola Florida, out on the
West side of town with a building inspector. I had been contacted by the
realtor and she asked what day and time I would be...

Market Forces or Ponzi Scams Are stocks fixed

Author: steve

Please read why I think the terminology Market Forces and Free
Enterprise really means rich ways to control stocks with special
rules. . The people who want the status quo are the same people
connected to the billionaires who short stocks and in cahoots with
hedge funds and insiders and maybe market makers and who take people
for all their worth so of course they don't want FTC to make changes.
Meanwhile do the insiders and market hedge funds trade on inside
information or give hedge funds inside information How do they know
when to short and how do they do it so successfully so often? If the
market often dictates then how is it , no matter what the companies do
the people who invest long seem to always lose?
Why do shorts always win out?
Read why in reality these so called let the market decide...

Fellow POW Will Not Vote for McCain

Why I Will Not Vote for John McCain Phillip Butler | March 27, 2008

http://www.military.com/opinion/0,15202,164859_1,00.html

As some of you might know, John McCain is a long-time acquaintance of
mine that goes way back to our time together at the U.S. Naval Academy
and as Prisoners of War in Vietnam. He is a man I respect and admire
in some ways. But there are a number of reasons why I will not vote
for him for President of the United States.

When I was a Plebe (4th classman, or freshman) at the Naval Academy in
1957-58, I was assigned to the 17th Company for my four years there.
In
those days we had about 3,600 midshipmen spread among 24 companies,
thus about 150 midshipmen to a company. As fortune would have it,
John, a First Classman (senior) and his room mate lived directly
across the hall from me and my two room mates. Believe me when I say
that back then I would never in a million or more years have dreamed
that the crazy guy across the hall would someday be a Senator and
candidate for President!

John was a wild man. He was funny, with a quick wit and he was
intelligent. But he was intent on breaking every USNA regulation in
our 4 inch thick USNA Regulations book. And I believe he must have
come...

  Sarah Palin as Vice President?

Author: mwhittingt
Date: Aug 19, 2008 20:55

At first glance Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska, would be the perfect
running mate for John McCain. She is down the line conservative, with
no opinions that would alarm the conservative base, is a reformer, is
young, attractive, and a female.
