well of course. I could see a headline in Die Welt in Nazi Germany
astounded that Canada and the USA were colluding against the
Fatherland.

For heaven sake. The USA and its puppet Israel have attacked or
threatened a dozen or so Muslim nations. OF course they are going to
co-operate in their own defence. They would be idiots to otherwise.

Couple whose baby was taken by DCFS wins suit against city

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-baby-lawsuit_both_04jul04,0,1155854...

By Steve Schmadeke | Chicago Tribune reporter
July 4, 2008

A federal jury in Chicago awarded $4.2 million Thursday to a West Side
couple whose infant was taken into protective custody for more than 8
months after two Chicago detectives allegedly "lied" to state
investigators, the couple's attorney said.

The city denied that the two officers had acted improperly and argued
that their actions played no role in the decision by the Department of
Children and Family Services to place the 6-month-old girl in foster
care, according to a Law Department spokeswoman. She said the city is
disappointed with the verdict and reviewing its legal options.

On Nov. 15, 2005, the owner of an in-home day-care center called Jose L.
Duran and his wife, Evelyn Torres, to report that their 6-month-old
daughter was crying uncontrollably, according to the couple's 2006
lawsuit. Hospital X-rays revealed their firstborn child had two broken
arms, according to the complaint.

1. Stocks are firmly in a downtrend.

The S&P 500 is down roughly 20%% from the market peak on October 11,
2007.

2. Corporate spreads are rapidly widening.

Investment grade bonds yielded as little as 0.30%% more than U.S.
Treasuries did back in 2003 - but are now as much as 2.30%% above U.S.
Treasury rates.

3. Everyone I know is saying "All is well, buy America."

The crowd is usually wrong at extremes.

Thursday morning in Waynesboro General District Court.

Authorities arrested Cherrianne Long, 32, of Grottoes on June 26, 2007,
after she was spotted in the 200 block of Port Republic Road, an area
known for drug trafficking. Police said an unidentified man was sitting
in Long’s 1983 BMW. As police questioned the man, Long exited a nearby
building and approached the car. The man and Long gave authorities
differing versions for being in the area, according to Waynesboro police.

After noticing a bulge in Long’s pants pocket, police searched her and
found oxycodone and methadone. Long was charged with two counts of
possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.

The Virginia Department of Forensic Science said 47 tablets of oxycodone
and six tablets of methadone were seized. Waynesboro prosecutor Charles
Ajemian said Long was trading drugs for drugs when caught.

Senator asks if nation's drivers should slow down

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Filed at 8:26 p.m. ET

WASHINGTON (AP) -- An influential Republican senator suggested Thursday that
Congress might want to consider reimposing a national speed limit to save
gasoline and possibly ease fuel prices.

Sen. John Warner, R-Va., asked Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman to look into
what speed limit would provide optimum gasoline efficiency given current
technology. He said he wants to know if the administration might support
efforts in Congress to require a lower speed limit.

Congress in 1974 set a national 55 mph speed limit because of energy
shortages caused by the Arab oil embargo. The speed limit was repealed in
1995 when crude oil dipped to $17 a barrel and gasoline cost $1.10 a gallon.

As motorists headed on trips for this Fourth of July weekend, gasoline
averaged $4.10 a gallon nationwide with oil hovering around $145 a barrel.

Warner cited studies that showed the 55 mph speed limit saved 167,000
barrels of oil a day, or 2 percent of the country's highway fuel
consumption, while avoiding up to 4,000 traffic deaths a year.
