Government seizes control of GSEs
By Glenn Somerville and Mark Felsenthal 55 minutes ago
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. government on Sunday seized control of
mortgage finance companies Fannie Mae (FNM.N) and Freddie Mac (FRE.N) in
an aggressive move to help the distressed U.S. housing market and economy.
Officials were concerned mounting losses at the two companies, which own
or guarantee almost half of the country's $12 trillion in outstanding home
mortgage debt, was sapping their vitality and threatening to undermine
them at a time other sources of housing finance have largely run dry.
"Our economy and our markets will not recover until the bulk of this
housing correction is behind us," Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said at
a news conference. "Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are critical to turning the
corner on housing."
The decision to take control of the companies, which have $1.6 trillion in
debt outstanding, and place them into a conservatorship under their
regulator could amount to the largest financial bailout in U.S. history.
The Treasury Department, which is taking an equity stake in the two firms,
said there was no reason to expect that taxpayers would have to shoulder
losses.

Democrats are into politics for the sole purpose of obscuring the definition
of morality, and passing subsequent laws that make morality illegal in the
United States.
At our nation's greatest crisis, the Civil War, the same democrats wanted to
destroy the United States for the cause of being superior to the black man;
today, these democrats want to destroy the United States for the cause of
being superior to unborn Americans.
This is the new Civil War that the democrats are engaged in, and their cause
is just as demented as the first.
It is a special time in America, where the election gives us a closer view
of the criminal mind the democrat possesses. There is a hysteria to try in
some way to clear their path legally and unhindered to address their need to
live without conscience.

Let’s see, how many times have the government, when run by Republicans
with the consent of the Democrat cowards, gone on a deregulation
binge? They deregulated the saving in loans and well that went great
now didn’t it. Now they scream about how we need to get the Gov off
the backs of poor Mr. Business. Hmmmmm, well the housing market is a
prime example of their idea of having Business take care of us isn’t
it. Can you really trust any group with power? Our founding fathers
knew what corrupt power was… the mercantile system of England…
everything for the rich , the elite and for their business interest
was how we ended up in the revolutionary war.

Maybe you've heard from others, read in the newspaper, or been
told during a worship service this election is an important one in
Florida. Not just because of the upcoming Presidential, Congressional,
or Statewide elections but because Florida is home to the biggest
attack on the Constitutional separation of church and state in any
state in recent memory.

Actually that isn't true.
When I moved to Virginia in 1983 there was a public school system in my
home town. It consisted of three elementary schools, two middle schools
and one high school.
In addition there was one Catholic elementary school.
When I moved back in October 2006 I find that there is a public school
system consisting of two elementary schools one middle school one high
school/ There is still a Catholic elementary school which is doing quite
well as far as keeping afloat thanks to vouchers. They even run ads in the
paper telling parents to enroll their kids in their school, it's free
(thanks to vouchers)
In addition to that there is also now a Christian k-12 school. This school
is the result of vouchers.

Democrats are into politics for the sole purpose of obscuring the definition
of morality, and passing subsequent laws that make morality illegal in the
United States.
Because of the type of person who becomes a democrat, someone with an
irresponsible and inconsiderate lifestyle, their cause and their party, in
effect, dismisses the Constitution. Without governing, there is the
original present or potential chaos that a Constitution is constructed to
prevent. The democrat's perfect and complete freedom without morals is
precisely the emergency the Constitution was written to legally address.
Every other issue a democrat brings-up against Republicans is a red-herring
that he neither cares about or believes himself.
Young or foolish minds are easily taken-in by the grandiose claims for the
wonder of the democrat party's humanitarianism, a claim that fills in the
chasm of the real deficit of their nefarious and unconscionable selfishness,
and also because they can have their drugs and their welfare too.
At our nation's greatest crisis, the Civil War, the same democrats wanted to
destroy the United States for the cause of being superior to the black man;
today, these democrats want to destroy the United States for the cause of
being superior to unborn Americans.
