It seems to me that by providing money to churches both increases
their power in the community and perpetuates dependency from handouts.
Obama though thinks is a good idea. Well, I hear shamans have a lot of
power in Africa...
Whatever the reason, how woud the Atheists handle the money, and would
you create empowerment with that money?
HOW ABOUT THESE INITIATIVES?
Naturally, education and healthcare should be the maximum priorities;
they should be free --or low cost, in the case of higher education--
and accessible to all. Likewise, culture and sports should have...

What is Nirvana?
Recall that Nirvana is the stated goal of religions that profess the desirability of
ESCAPE from the vicious cycle of eternal transmigration of the soul beyond death.
Nirvana has everything to do with that and nothing whatsoever to do with one's moral
code, behavior or so-called 'clean thinking'. A modicum of good intent is presumed.
Nirvana is basically one's blessed return to Plain Life, and I cannot emphasize enough
the word "plain". Your body is something natural and mortal and when it dies, your
sojourn is over, plain and simple...

The gun-nut lobby couldn't care less about what kid finds Daddy's
gun and decides to play "Cowboy" or "Cops & Robbers"
and shoots his little brother. They will just say, "too bad,
keep it locked up - not my fault!" and won't admit how resourceful
kids can be about getting into stuff.
What a load of propaganda, is the talk about "self-defense".
If a robber on the street puts a gun to the back of your head,
you're best off to hand over your wallet instead of reaching
for a gun, even if you have it on you. If you get hit by a bullet from a
drive-by shooting, from some punk that has gun that was
blessed by a lobby-pandering GOP, you wouldn't have time
to get your gun.
If you *did* have an intruder, you could disarm him just
as well with tear-gas or stun gun. The Right-Wing loonies
mostly don't have to worry about drive-by shootings, because
they wouldn't live anywhere but a lily-white, Ozzie-and-Harriet
neighborhood. And, as is predictable, they couldn't care LESS
about poor or minority neighborhoods that really are plagued
with gun violence.

Actually, the Bible is dangerous only if
taken seriously.
Both "testaments" that comprise the Bible are
contradictory collections of myths, fables and
children's stories, written by anonymous
(and ignorant) men hundreds of years after the
events they purport to report, translated,
re-translated, rewritten and finally compiled by a
committee, which arbitrarily included some
passages of "scripture" and equally arbitrarily
omitted others. Not one word of it can be regarded
as factual.
(The above is absolutely true, as any credible,
accredited Bible scholar will confirm.)

PINK GRANITE FROM THE SKY
Strange lights in the sky...
There must be a rational explanation
Perhaps the gods went bowling with ball lightning
Perhaps a giant blowtorch firefly
But something has landed...
A slab of pink granite
embedded 28 meters in the ground
Perhaps a space-ship was stranded
Strange symbols cover the alien Rosetta Stone,
an outpouring of sympathy from a bizarre intelligence,
offering unexpected assurance to the powerless
That in your ceaseless struggles, you are not alone

The 2 candidates got heavy-duty neocon political-military operatives
on their teams
1) take McCain , besides Charlie Black , he's got Phil Gramm, the
"Enron Loophole" master...for the money, that is.........also neocon
members of the Eisenberg group, the guy who signed the WTC 99 year
leases to Silverstein ,Goldman, etc., just 6 weeks before 9/11, in a
big rush to put it mildly....he's got also Kravis from KKR and Ken
Mehlman who with Fleischer,Ullman,Rosen,Libby,Abrams,Feith,Wolfowitz
and Zakheim, among other darlings, created the master plan to invade
Iraq, bomb the daylights out of the CIVIL POPULATION ( Ullman : the
shock and awe ! guy ) and leave all the arms and explosives depots
unguarded to fuel the insurgency and justify more attacks and more
contracts, and ond and on, we could go on for days about their military
precision plan ....
2) Obama's got Ben-Veniste , who with Zelikow and the Robert Rubin
team and others turned the 9/11 Commission Report into a national
insult, these ultra-neocons from the political-military hard core
section...

"Jesus is God?"Â Hell, there isn't a scrap of credible historical
evidence that Jesus ever existed.
There is not one single *contemporary* written account of Jesus' life,
words or activities. Not one. Everything written about him came at
least decades -- or hundreds of years -- later.
Not a single piece of writing that mentions Jesus has been traced to
his own time. That's because everything about him was MADE UP later,
by members of the sect that formed around him.
One would think that a man as wondrous as Jesus supposedly was would
have inspired *at least some* people to write about him in his own
time. But no one did. One would have to be a moron not to draw the
obvious conclusion.
Jesus is God?
Why should any intelligent person believe such nonsense in the absence
of any evidence whatsoever?
