Oil prices climb. Leftists complain that our need for oil colors our middle
east policies. There is a shortage of refinery capacity in the US
And yet what happens when someone tries to do something about it?

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY
Big turnout over oil refinery's expansion plan
Residents split on issue that will add jobs and emissions
Jason B. Johnson, Chronicle Staff Writer
Tuesday, April 24, 2007
(04-24) 23:13 PDT -- Local residents turned out in force Tuesday night
at a Contra Costa County Planning Commission meeting, about half opposing
and the other half supporting ConocoPhillips Co.'s plan to increase refining
capacity and output at its Rodeo refinery by 30 percent.
Supporters said the refinery has been a good neighbor and welcomed the
addition of new jobs while critics accused the company of having a checkered
safety record.

Oil prices are high because the oil barons are greedy. The economy
is tanking, however the oil companies are making record profits. I
wonder how many of them are leftists?
Keep on spreading rightwing probaganda, it so easy to spot.

It's because supplies can't keep up with world wide demand and libs won't
allow increased domestic drilling or nuke power. Just keep right on lying
about it until you fucking freeze to death one night so we can all have a
good laugh.

and getting huge tax breaks!
"Oil companies such as Exxon Mobil and utility owners such as Southern
spent $367 million over the past two years lobbying Congress on energy
legislation, according to data from PoliticalMoneyLine and the Center
for Responsive Politics. The legislation contains tax breaks of $1.6
billion for oil and gas producers and refiners and $3.1 billion for
utilities. "

you'd think even the dumbest rightwingnut would catch on by now that
giving record tax breaks to companies making record profits while the
government is running up record deficits has got to be the result of
record corruption, but of course they don't.

Or course they are leftists. They are Arab loving Jew hating leftists. Every
single one of them.
Oil barons have been greedy for decades that's not a new phenomenon that
just happened two years ago.
Besides they can't exclusively set the prices. Talk to OPEC.
It's the leftist environmentalist groups that get in our way of building
more oil refineries.
It's the left that is imposing extra tax on all the oil companies. Who do
you think will end up paying that bill?
It's the left that has even suggested adding more tax to the gas at the pump
price to pay for some of their new bullshit programs.

Saving ANWAR and our national parks is not irrational, only rightards want
to pave the whole world. And yeah I don't mind the higher oil prices IF
they were in the form of taxes that would offset our income tax burden.
That way, our demand for oil would go down, and the Middle East would quit
getting most of our money. But we can't do that because rightards are too
stupid to grasp the concept.
