Republicans fail to stop nuke test

Author: American Jesus
Date: Oct 8, 2006 23:43

Already losing two wars, spying on American citizens, blaming
everything on Clinton, going after minors, Republicans upped the ante
by allowing North Korea to conduct a nuclear test and disrupt the
balance of power in the region.

Up next: Losing yet another war, this time in Iran.

Let's have a warm round of applause for these idiot fascists who make
the US weaker with every breath they take.

Look on the bright side, Republicans: When you are out of power you'll
have even more time to screw little boys. Enjoy!

Pyongyang has upper hand, says expert

test is an ominous sign that Pyongyang has the upper hand in its standoff
with the US, a leading expert on the shadowy state has said.

Dr Ron Huisken, of the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre in Canberra, has
told NEWS.com.au that the timing of the test, reported today, is startling.

"It's one of the last cards they have left," he said. "To have decided to
play it now suggests an ominous development in the mood in Pyongyang."

North Korea's official news agency announced the successful test earlier
this afternoon, describing it as an "historic event".

"They're playing hardball . and at the moment they have the upper hand," Dr
Huisken said.

He said the timing of the test was also "incredible" because one year ago to
the day, Pyongyang had managed to wrest a signed assurance from the US that
it would not be attacked.

That assurance had been one of North Korea's key demands in the six-party
talks that have been sporadically held in recent years, with otherwise
limited results.

Those talks finally broke down after the US started applying pressure to a
financial lifeline the regime operated through offshore accounts.

  NORTH KOREA WAGES WAR......

N Korea wages war on long hair
Men's hairstyles reflect their 'ideological spirit'
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/4157121.stm

North Korea has launched an intensive media assault on its latest arch
enemy - the wrong haircut.

A campaign exhorting men to get a proper short-back-and-sides has been
aired by state-run Pyongyang television.

The series is entitled {Let us trim our hair in accordance with
Socialist lifestyle}.

While the campaign has been carried out primarily on television,
reports have appeared in North Korean press and radio, urging tidy
hairstyles and proper attire. It is the strongest media campaign
against men's sloppy appearances mounted in the reclusive and
impoverished Communist state in recent years. The propaganda drive on
grooming standards has gone a stage further than previous attempts.
This time television identifies specific individuals deemed too shoddy.

Rep. Kolbe saw Foley messages in 2000
Another lawmaker knew of inappropriate Internet exchanges
By Jonathan Weisman

Updated: 7:06 p.m. PT Oct 8, 2006
Another Republican congressman knew of disgraced former representative
Mark Foley's inappropriate Internet exchanges as far back as 2000 and
personally confronted Foley about his communications.

A spokeswoman for Rep. Jim Kolbe (R-Ariz.) confirmed yesterday that a
former page showed the congressman Internet messages that had made the
youth feel uncomfortable with the direction Foley (R-Fla.) was taking
their e-mail relationship. Last week, when the Foley matter erupted, a
Kolbe staff member suggested to the former page that he take the matter
to the clerk of the House, Karen Haas, said Kolbe's press secretary,
Korenna Cline.

Well, I think we, the people, should decide to use less energy. Will
we?
Doubtful, until the prices force it and at that point things could get
_ugly_.

No it isn't!

Hell, people here alone have 6 totally different views of the space
between the CO2 molecules for a starter! They argue different effects
while ignoring half of the equation! Despite this they all seem to chant
the same mantra, despite the impossibility of arriving at the same point
from such diverse starting points!

Oh, and every one of them claim to have read the "scientific papers"!

Although it hasn't yet been confirmed, if they really did set off a
bomb I'm wondering what the heck Bush is going to do next...

No shit, it is called demand destruction. So who will decided if we, or
China, or Europe will do with less?

We all join hands and sing Kumbia?

No, that it can't be produced to meet demand is the issue. Now it is
called demand destruction.

How will you grow money supplies then?
