re: p.c.
It is not totally clear what your objection or animus to p.c. is.
You think it's excessive, repressive, and ultimately solves nothing?
P.C. came about becauise various peoples & interests were being
harshly & softly offended by insensitive, crude, impolite, uncivil
criticisms.
P.C. is also associated with the many seeming stupidities and
indulgences by "liberals."
The once honorable L word itself became a victim of mob ("democratic")
slashing, bashing and trashing.
"Liberalism" became associated with excusing bad behaviors rather than
the guilty perpetrators suffering due punishing consequences.
"Limousine Liberalism" is a perfect nasty label utilized by
rightwingish populist demagogues--an angry person running for mayor or
governor et cetra of New York infamously coined it (Mario Prochochino,
1968?)
You apparently are mainly saying: People fear to tell truths.
Yeah, I agree, truths are often extremely discombobulating
Problemo: what is one's truths may be another's offensiveness,
slander, arrogance, and condescension.
The American culture allows legalistic free speech.
Speech that is not popular is legally allowed.
Nevetheless, speaking-out sincerely against doctrinaire or
fundamenlist or orthodox religions can easily cost a non-believer his
life, no matter all the pious legalistic and moral posturings & human
rights freedoms America claims is its trademark
For instance: An out-of-work mad man recently shotgunned two dozen
people in a Unitarian church in the U.S. (two dead).
They say the guy had been reading some mob popular best seller books
blaming liberals for ...name it (all that's bad).
If p.c. 's purpose is that it tries to shame & restrain fools &
bigots, then I'm for p.c.
Wooday Allen &/or Ziggy Freud says: repression is the price for
civilization
