One cannot "be" dead. One may experience dying [Bummer!], however.
Consider "Poor Joe" ["Oklahoma!" "...poor Joe is dead...it's Summer and
we're runnin' out of ice."].
What happened to Joe's intimate subjective self? Ya know, that 'thingy'
that is the "somebody at home" inside your head. Of course, that 'thingy' is
an artifact of Joe's genetics and socialization and does not exist without
them.
Nevertheless, that (naked) 'subjectivity' is 'identical' to everyone
else's [I submit.].
How curious that after 13.6 billion years of Cosmic evolution, Joe's
"...at home" is considered singular, unique, lost forever, and "won't happen
again".
True, Joe's somatic form is going bad because of the lack of ice, and
that somatic form is, indeed, all there is of Joe.

Interesting statement. Doesn't feel right to me. I'd say a squirrel
has a naked subjectivity and I doubt it's identical to mine. My wife's
or son's would be more similar but not identical.
True or not, I can't see any plausible way to prove it.

Yah, dat's da problum! No way to tell subjectivities apart if you set
aside [ just a little bit] genetics and socialization.
And, if ya can't tellum apart, then for all useful purposes they're the
same,..."scientifically".

That "projection" idea occured to me the last week!
Here's another one: God created the whole world 4 seconds ago!
...The whole shebang, thoughts, history books, fossils, Macdonald's.
I suggest only because God is said to have created "Time", among other
things.
