Why Universe is expanding?

Why do Scientist say Universe is expanding?

What is the rate of Expansion?

If two balls are kept at a distance of 1 meter. After 1 year will the
distance between them increase? If yes by how much?

Secondly if Universe is expanding. The distance between planets and
Sun will increase and since gravity force decreases in propotionate to
r^2 where r is distance between 2 masses.

Why do scientist think universe is expanding?

Does this expansion in volume So size of earth is also increasing? If
so the density of all things will go down?

Can we measure the Universe Expansion?

Bye
Sanny

Because they forget that light take time to travel
and every year, we will see anopther years light hit us.
It is not physically expanding, we are just seeing more
each year since it takes that long for us to see more.

0 physical expansion
1 year more distance seen per year we are looking.

If kept in a absolute enviroment the entire time, 0 difference.
The universe is not "expanding" we only see more every year.
All that stuff we "all of a sudden see" is simply there already.

Universe WAS expanding - until yesterday it was expanding at rate of one
inch per day.
But we just measured it and it does seem to have stopped.
The size of the Universe is the same today as it was yesterday.

It is consistent with the astronomical evidence.

Find the value for the Hubble constant for the closest objects outside
the Virgo supercluster (of which we are a part).

Two things.
First, the balls will gravitate. In less than a year, they will be
together.
Second, expansion is not detectable *locally*.

No. Or at least not for tens of billions of years.

Let me comlete the Question.

When distance increases between Sun & Planet slowly the planet will
run away from Sun as the Gravitational pull will become less due to
increase in distance between planet and Sun.

So Why Earth has not run away from Sun after Billions of years even
though the Universe was Expanding.

Because the cosmic background radiation, the relative abundance of
interstellar hydrogen and helium, and the Hubble constant are all
consistent with a physical model that say it is.

Approximately 7 billionths of a percent per year currently.
