Good for them - and it is also benefiting us enormously. The more they
"bloom" the better it will get - both for us and them - with no end in
sight.

Horrors. We should really take steps to keep them impoverished. What
right do the Chinese and Indians have to enjoy the benefits of modern
technology? Oxcarts and back-breaking physical drudgery for them!

At current growth rates there will only be one square foot/person in
600 years.

That's with 3/4th of the people treading water in the oceans.

Since the sunlight/ft^2 is < 20 watts there will be famines _long_
before the end of the next six hundred years.

Long before that, in the next century, all oil, tar sand, oilemulsion
and oil shale will be gone making agriculture much less productive.

By next summer the price of gasoline will be $4/gallon and the summer
after that $5/gallon.

High tech communications, however, requires very little energy so the
country will still be wired allowing for the restoration of the
sovereignty of the people and some sanity to national energy policy.

Only 600 years, huh?

Wow.

Like I said, the Mathusians never give up.

Finally catching up to Europe. Actually, it's $9/gallon in Norway.

And what will our taxes be if your girl gets elected?

Kind of a long time frame for aimless shallow weak minded trash who
never passed a single college logic, math or science course, ain't it?

You cut - snipped the part about 3/4ths of the population treading
water.

What's wrong? Afraid to face reality?

Well maybe a pea brain can be kept alive on 20 watts . . .

I am curious if you can point to time in history where population
control coupled with reduced technology levels ever made things
better. Easter Island comes to mind, but since that did not end so
well I'm not sure that is the best example.

However, I can provide countless examples where people were give the
freedom to choose how to live and coupled with new technology solved
numerous problems.

I.E. Don't tell me how many kids to have and what to drive and I
won't do the same for you.

Easter Island ran out of resources. They took all the trees and bush. Little
would grow. Their major food was chickens, and finally could not even
support them. Further, they had a few different tribes in the area.
Alltogether it became unstable and people left.

The new technology, however, always comes from those who "choose" to
have less kids.

The tragedy of the commons.
