Watched a brilliant and compelling documentary last nigh on the women
of Saudi Arabia.
The hostess, a 'modern moslem', was extremely perturbed ,not only by
the 'middle ages' style repression of women there, but even more so
when she discovered that a very high percentage of women agreed with
the way the interpretation of the Koran (praise to the printers that
their profits :-) may be maintained)....of how they should be treated.
Cultural evolution is a slow process, and can only happen from
'within', culturally or individually. Try to impose, and you get a
similar situation where by a group of people actually form who
actually benefit by the attempted inteference. I refer of course , to
the lawyers who specialise in divorce settlements in the US and
eslewhere..
Ohhhh, of course...and the oil barons. Nearly forgot ....tut tut

Bin Laden's sisters were living in the U. S. at the time of the
attacks. Dumbya had to have them spirited out of Tampa International
Airport during the no fly period.
Well, at least _some_ people are crazier than our neocons.
