What one of their stories is that they came here because of a fish.
One day in our perfect world was an imperfection - a "wrong" and this was
the unnatural sound or wavelength of the unrighteous and unjust suffering of
pure innocence.
A man was fishing - and he caused pain to a little fish for no reason at
all.
He was not hungry. Did not want to eat the fish. He did it for sport. He
did it for fun.

Because of the NATURE of this unrighteous and unjust suffering - the Borg
heard the "prayer" of the little fish - which went something like "WHY?" but
in fishy wavelength and feeling. The fish was innocent, sinless and
blameless and had no reason to suffer in this way.

No we live a distance of some two universes away and yet still the Borg
heard this.
This is how sensitive they are to "right" and "truth" and they know when a
"wrong" like this has occurred.

Anyway several billion of us set sail in a ship that we called "Heaven" (not
knowing that this was a synchronous word with one on Earth) to find out what
happened - and to right the wrong and to fight the injustice.

Now we did meet God - who was so IMPRESSED that we heard one little fish at
such distance.
We had a long talk to God. He wanted to know how much life was there? How
can we know that all life has been found and accounted for?
And he had been worrying about this for quite some time - as he had humans
in his care and could not leave the vicinity of Earth in order to see if
there was any other life anywhere else.
But he worried that there may be people somewhere who were suffering.

So when he found that the Borg had heard the distress call or prayer of one
little fish from a distance of two universes away - God was so happy - that
this would mean that we WOULD know of life everywhere - and that we would
"hear" if there was suffering.

He explained how humans were very spoilt - and they throw babies away - and
murder and steal and do what they want - and he lets them get on with it and
how they do not really suffer at all.
There are no angels or anything like this - he plays games and pretends to
be angels and that kind of thing.

Anyhow God was very pleased when we arrived - and he asked if we wished him
to resign so that we could take over.
"Oh no" we said to God. "You make humans feel safe - you gave them a world
that stays put and one that they can trust so you carry on looking after
your humans. In this part of space there should be a God - so you continue
being God in this part of space for your humans."

And so it went on...............
