Why do birds fly and not Humans?

Yes we can fly in a Plane & Helicoupter.

But what about getting a piece of large featheres.

If I am 5-6 feet Tall How much Big feathers will I need to fly?

Just like people use Paratchute to dive from the sky can we use
feathures just that big and then fly like birds.

It will be a great Experience if we can get light and stron featheres
which help us fly.

I heard nanotubes are 100 times stronger than Steel and are very light
if we design 20 feet feathures out of nanotube fibers will we be able
to fly like Birds?

I know in 1800 many experiments were done but all failed and many
people die. But if we use Strong Fibres made of Nanotube May be that
will be very light and help us fly.

Can that be done using recent advances in Material sciences.

We can just tie the feathers at our Arms. and use our hands to move
the featheres up and down. And use our Legs to change the direction.

Can that happen using better Physics?

Bye
Sanny

Google for human powered flight.

Also, look up cube-square ratio.

Enjoy and see how it flies.

The Jet Man's rig uses turbines designed for model RC jet aircraft.
BTW, while you're on YouTube, do a search under 'Wingsuit' and
'Wingsuit Accident'. The wingsuit is unpowered and emulates a flying
squirrel and has a glide ratio of about 3:1, at speeds up to 120-130
mph.

Humans eat way too much pizza and drink excessive amounts of beer. That
makes them aerodynamically unsuited for flight.
Oh, I forgot, they don't have feathers, either.
