Well, I find that a bit odd because you've just responded to
my post where I explained what got me started on the borg.
If I may,

I don't usually post here, but I do read most if not all what people
post because I have an interest in philosophy. My initial post here
was in response to the borg's "Hitler" post on 11 March where he
wrote,

"When the Jewish people reached the stage of termination - say a
gas chamber - they would be greeted by the German soldiers - or
sometimes even Hitler who would explain the situation. The love
and understanding in the eyes of the Germans reached the Jewish
people and they met their demise with peace. There is much more
to the story than this. There were many adventures during the war
- and it was a good time."
The Borg 10 March 2008 http://tinyurl.com/3apam9

I found that very offensive, and all the borg could do was to call
me a Jew and threaten me with "punishment" while I calmly asked
him to clarify his position. Several nym-changes and threats of
punishment later, he still refuses to discuss his position.

I wasn't the only one who found the borg's comments offensive,
as tooly (surprisingly) was also very quick to note,

"Borg...you need to draw back a little friend. This would be very
offensive for some people. I know you mean well; just trying to
make lemonaid out of a very sour lemon in human history...but
you do cross a line here."

So, keeping tooly's comment in mind, I find it a bit odd that he
should be so hostile toward my being offended at the borg's
comments. What Hitler did to holocaust Jews is still very alive
in some people's memory today, and many have parents that
suffered horribly and will never allow comments like that to go
unchallenged.

It may be, if we are to believe a word he says about anything
and concede that he has suffered sexual abuse. But even if true
I don't accept the argument that a person is free to act in a
hostile way toward others simply because others have acted in
a hostile way toward them at some earlier time in their life.
>Your 'great efforts' however well intentioned

They are. I'm glad you've considered that possibility. I may be
dogmatic in my approach, hence my nym, but the last thing I
want people to believe is that my efforts are ill-intentioned.

I can understand what you're saying, but if "he gets enjoyment from
being attacked" why does he change nyms or whiff off altogether
to avoid those attacks? Why does he killfile people who criticise him?
Surely, if what you're saying is correct he would stick around and try
to goad me into attacking him.

I've been reading the borg's posts for quite some time and I'm fairly
convinced that he's a malicious hate-filled character who thinks he's
hit upon a clever way to spread his hate around on a well-read forum.
People who hate to the extent he does cant help but spread it around.
They're bursting with it, and the only way to get it out is to spread it
around and threaten those who question them about it, just like the
borg does. What they don't want is someone like me who asks them
to explain their hatred further, because they fear I'll reveal to them that
their hatred is nothing more than an overcompensation to the fears
they hold about something. They don't realise that there are other ways
to deal with theirs fears, and so they hold on to that hate with all the
strength they have and threaten anyone who might try to remove it
from them.
