The Buzz Marketing group asked teenagers to choose their favorites from a
range of media.
Devotees of Television and the Personal Computers may wish to look away.
Internet or TV ? A whopping 93 percent of teenagers say the Internet is
king, though the ratings for *American Idol* the number one most watched TV
program in America tells us that Television is not giving up without one
hell of a fight.
Instant messaging ? that's so 20th century and Second Millennium, Text
messaging was preferred over Instant Messaging by 71 percent of teenagers.

Yes it was, but I bet you already knew that...There's an easily found
list of the playlist for MTV's first air date back in 1981 (doesn't
**seem** that long ago)...

Young people learned from popular media that they should be "famous".
They are settling for infamous. The Internet offers the illusion of
feedback. TV does not.

That's where they are at.

That and the emerging ability to have what you want when you want it, as
long as the scope of what you want is narrowed to what the Internet can
facilitate. Soon enough it will IRL things like one-off clothings,
manufactured items (these exist but are not fully realized yet.) Of
course, the one-offs will be whatever the herd determines to be
acceptably unique. I wouldn't go to a Brooks Brothers for Goth costumes.
