If you are into Christianity, have you looked into Szekely's work on
translating old Aramaic scrolls from the 4th century embedded in the
vatican?
http://www.thenazareneway.com/index_essene_gospels_of_peace.htm
It was in 1928 that Edmond Bordeaux Szekely (pronounced Say-Kay) first
published his translation of The Essene Gospel of Peace, an ancient
manuscript discovered in the Secret Archives of the Vatican as the result of
limitless patience, faultless scholarship, and unerring intuition.
The English version first appeared in 1937 representing yet another fragment
of the complete manuscript which exists in Aramaic in the Secret Archives of
the Vatican and in old Slavonic in the Royal Library of the Habsburgs (now
the property of the Austrian government). The poetic style of the translator
brings to vivid reality the exquisitely beautiful words of Jesus and the
Elders of the Essene Brotherhood. Liberated from the secret archives of the
Vatican, these sacred scrolls are testaments to the eternal and living truth
of the Way.
"In the beginning was the Sound, and the Sound was with God, and the Sound
was God."
[ much editing has been done by men who no longer knew what Jesus [ and
others] was speaking about originally .... all quite twisted far from the
Truth of matters, imho.]
and
And Jesus answered: "Seek not the law in your scriptures, for the law is
life, whereas the scripture is dead. I tell you truly, Moses recieved not
his laws from God in writing, but through the living word. [ ie Sound - not
the spoken words or written words ] The law is living word of living God to
living prophets for living men. In everything that is life is the law
written. You find it in the grass, in the tree, in the river, in the
mountain, in the birds of heaven, in the fishes of the sea; but seek it
chiefly in yourselves."
and
"You have learned that the laws of the Son of man are seven, of the angels
three, and of God, one. Now you shall *know* of the three laws of the
angels, the mystery of the three Holy Streams and the ancient way to
traverse them; so shall you bathe in the light of heaven and at last behold
the revelation of the mystery of mysteries; the law of God, which is One. "
