Birth, like death, is merely a change of form. Birth and death are
convenient linguistic conventions for dealing in the world of time,
which is both necessary and misleading.

Birth of what?
An idea that came from nothing, or just the death of previous ideas in
forming a new one?
The initial dividing of the single cell at the beginning of the
physical body?
The death is that of an illusion,a percieved reality, that didnt
really exist. An example being success related joy, where the
association is then discovered to be unrelated. The percieved need for
success dies and the joy remains. Joy being an aspect of the authentic
self.
Of course, these days of scientific progress, we can even see that at
the material level that what first appears real, is in fact only a
subjective interpretation. The perception is continually dying and
being reborn.

Is misery also "an aspect of the authentic self".

True. Each process known as life, integrates then disintegrates. It
does not dis-intergrate then re-integrate.

I don't think it "disintegrates" . . . it just changes.
