What future would he write? Or would you?
A future based on what is likely to occur
based on current facts and trends?
Or a future NASA ..should...have in an
otherwise perfect world?
I know what I would write. It would be a future
where NASA plays the central role in fulfilling
the promise of space. Which I believe is taking
the human race to the next level of understanding
ability to survive, and prosperity.
That NASA should become the vehicle for creating
...Truth and Justice...for the future of the entire planet
and be an ever growing source of inspiration across
space and time.
..............................................
Would such a movie include a Space Program like this?
Which President Bush canceled his first year in office?

In other words, like most of what you write, it would be fiction.

Detailing the past is easy. Scientifically predicting the future in detail
is what's hard.
You objectively trained folks have it all so backwards. Relying on
'facts' and details of the past in order to predict the future.
And thus gain control over the present. That doesn't work.
The world is non-linear, and unpredictable.
If your 'modern' method gives almost zero ability to predict the future.
The reverse must do just the opposite. The way around the problem
of /predicting/ the future of a non-linear world is to replace detailing
reality, with imagining the future.
The more accurate or detailed our imagination is of the future
the more likely we can make the proper decisions needed
to make that future a reality. And the better chance we have
of knowing in advance what our future is to be.

He wouldn't write any. Since the people with science brains
invented Miicorcomputers, Fiber Optics, DWD+RW, GPS, PV Cells,
RNA, Lasers, Stealth, A.I. Robots, and nanotech to remind both NASA
and Tom Hanks,
that NASA is a Government Agency, rather than a science agency,

Then McCain knows even less about the Shuttle than he does about computers.
Not only would a Shuttle not have enough food or energy aboard to make
such a voyage even if you could get it up to the velocity needed to
reach Mars, but on arrival it would fall out of the sky like a rock in
the thin atmosphere. :-)
