I'm on record in these parts trying to speak for the masses who made
Hyapatia of Alexandria toast. Prevailing thought is that the masses are
ignoramouses who burn down storehouses of human knowledge so they can pander
to their own belief systems. But I see it different. Whomsoever spits into
a line of ants already ordered and somewhat content, whatever the mindless
procession may seem like to urbane sophisticates, creates a bevy of
chaos...and no creature likes chaos.

What is the goal though? I mean, when do we 'arrive'? When will we KNOW
that we are at the summit of whatever ecological mountain we are supposed to
climb? In a thousand years, will we still be rationalizing devotion to the
'future'..to knowledge that we, even then, do not have?

I argue that all we really have are MOMENTS and not extended time. And that
changes everything. CURIOSITY is ok as a value. But there are far more
worthy things about our character as a creature. IMHO.
