Two elderly friends, Bill and Sam, met in the park every day to feed the
pigeons, watch the squirrels and discuss world problems.

One day Bill didn't show up. Sam didn't think much about it and figured
maybe he had a cold or something. But after Bill hadn't shown up for a
week or so, Sam got worried. However, since the only time they ever got
together was at the park, Sam didn't know where Bill lived, so he was
unable to find out what had happened to him.

A month passed, and Sam figured he had seen the last of Bill, but
one day, Sam went to the park and -- lo and behold! -- there sat Bill!
Sam was very excited and happy to see him and told him so. Then he said,
'For crying out loud Bill, what in the world happened to you?'

Bill replied, 'I've been in jail for 30 days.'

'Jail?' cried Sam. 'What in the world for?'

'Well,' Bill said, 'you know Sue, that cute little blonde waitress at
the coffee shop where we some times go?'

'Yeah,' said Sam, 'I remember her. What about her?'

'Well one day she filed rape charges against me and, at 89 years old, I
was so proud that when I got into court, I pled guilty.

"So what happened then?" said Sam.

"The judge gave me 30 days for perjury.".

THE BOTTLE OF WINE

For all of us who are married, were married, wish
you were married, or wish you weren't married, this
is something to smile about the next time you see a
bottle of wine:

Sally was driving home from one of her business
trips in Northern Arizona when she saw an elderly
Navajo woman walking on the side of the road.

As the trip was a long and quiet one, she stopped
the car and asked the Navajo woman if she would like
a ride.

With a silent nod of thanks, the woman got into
the car.

Resuming the journey, Sally tried in vain to make
a bit of small talk with the Navajo woman. The old
woman just sat silently, looking intently at
everything she saw, studying every little detail,
until she noticed a brown bag on the seat next to
Sally.

"What in bag?" asked the old woman.

Sally looked down at the brown bag and said, "It's
a bottle of wine. I got it for my husband."

The Navajo woman was silent for another moment or
two.

Then speaking with the quiet wisdom of an elder,
she said:

"Good trade....."
