I have occasionally reflected that one century and one year passed
between the famous utterances "What hath God wrought?" (1), and "My
God, what have we done?" (2)

Our struggling, potentially noble little species is capable of great
things, some of them unspeakably horrible, some of them miraculously
wonderful.

Somehow, I have a certain faith that our better nature will win out
over our lesser nature, but only time will tell....
