There is only boredom.
All this "look at me" self righteous stuff really gets me.
How about doing something constructive and helpful for your species
like... hmm.. i dunno... figure out how to end world hunger, poverty,
etc. ?
Nah, that'd be asking too much from the fartsy artsy's. They'd only
complain that they couldn't get their tours booked, or their paintings
displayed, or their sculptures bought.
We have the power to do so much good, yet we waste it on idle
nonsense.
Art is nothing more than people with too much time on their hands.
Oh, and I enjoy creating art myself. And yes I am a hypocrite (i don't
do anything to help solve world hunger, poverty, etc.)

Some US states have madates for public buildings' art. Minnesota allocates
between 1/2%% to 2%% of a public building's construction or reconstruction
budget goes to public art displayed as part of the building (sometimes as
part of the architecture, sometimes as traditionally 'hung' or installed
art.)
But regardless, trying to make a measure of what is appropriate, what is
'art' in the public sector defeats freedom.

i have no problem with people's freedoms at all.
i just really think that we have too much time on our hands, and all
that time, instead of creating art, could be better spent doing things
more constructive to be a better benefit to people, especially those
in need.
