There are no illusions

Some people say that the world as we 'see' it is an illusion. But what does
this mean?

To talk of an 'illusion' implies that there's a real world 'out there' which
is different from the phenomenal world which we perceive through the senses.

However, we can't experience the real world. All we can experience is the
phenomena. We can't really know what the 'real world' is like, or even
whether it exists.

So what business does anyone have talking about 'illusions'?

You're right. An illusion is a real-world event. Interesting point.

I used to despair that all I saw was an illusion, then I realized I could
live with my falibilities and accept it - but then I found out that it is
not all my illusion but someone elses and now I am really angry - could he
have not done better than this?

Not necessarily.

Some kinds of deceit work well.

A good question Andy, considering 'illusions' is most preferred
topic :-)

Richard Bach had a good stab with his book of the same name.Eckhart
Tolle is the latest contributer to to explain this phenomena.

The whole premise is missed by your view that there is a real world
"out there".

Illusions are not falibilities. The whole material and mental world is
temporal. Your viewpoint today is, by definition, different from the
one you had yesterday, adn from the time you started reading this
thread.
