Them Jews Is Reely Brite

I semi-apologize for linking this absurdist booger; though when I fly
over a graveyard I ....
uh...worry about the plane crashing, and especially where they would
bury the non-orthodox survivors.

haaretz.com/ is nothing but a bunch of smelly hippy liberal gay
peaceniks.

You can save a lot on jet fuel just by moving to California or New
York if that's what you want.

You _really_ want to have Al Gore's carbon footprint?

re: Fear of flying, terrorism, oil bullshitski, decline of the u.s.a.

The airport announcement every 10 minutes or so with the grave &
awesome voice cautions and warns, and at the end of the p.a.
announcement, the announcer maintaining a straight face says "have a
good flight."

Have a good flight !

The competitive airplane passenger industry is seemingly doomed to
reorganization bankruptcy, as the fuel costs are reducing chance for
profits and solvency.

Breath Taking State of Denial About Liquid Fuel Costs Increasing 30%% A Year

Just by the way people are talking it's clear just about everyone --
this includes engineers and scientists in industry and higher
education, not just laymen on the street -- has some kind of mental
blindness when it comes to energy costs.

Liquid fuel has been increasing in cost by 30%% a year and there's no
reason whatsoever to believe it won't continue increasing just as
fast.

Extrapolating 4 years from now: $3.60 X 1.3^4 = $3.60 X 2.85 = $10/
gallon.

If we don't want to spend humanity's last days on earth "liberating"
oil from mideast despotisms then we need to start thinking about the
basics, i. e., getting some food to eat, _now_.

Want to get a clue as to the extent of the state of denial?

There are solutions, but nobody with the political power to set policy
has the vision to see them. The solutions are not nice. The USA is
going to quit exporting so much grain. Which is the other commodity
that is rising in price in step with oil.

One tactic is to quit growing corn and switch to sorghum. The U of Ga
did a study showing you can get 100-120 gallons of ethanol/acre with
it. The USDA website shows how it can be grown on only 3.5 gallons of
tractor fuel/acre.

So, all right, crunch the numbers. 30$ worth of liquid fuel gets you
3000-3600$ worth of liquid fuel. Plus, you still have the seed for
chickens and turkeys, and still have the mash to raise beef on. So,
Americans still get burgers, still get thanxgiving turkey, but Mexico
runs out of corn for tortillas.

They better hurry with that fucking fence. The ancient rule still
applies: them that has, gets. conversely, them that dont, starve.

Shift 75 million acres of corn to sorghum. With 300 million Americans,
thats 1/4 acre per capita. or 25-30 gallons of liquid fuel. On top of
the domestic liquid fuel the economy gets. When you add in commuting
reductions from home office workers, its painful, but functional.
