The Wheel of Indoctrination

Another good example of what I have called "the wheel of
indoctrination" . . . that is, the tendency for information falsely
passing as "knowledge" to be propagated through the official channels
of education (indoctrination) and into the general public. Because
this "knowledge" has the stamp of approval from the official
authorities and gatekeepers of "knowledge" (schools), the information
is accepted as fact and it develops an inertia that is difficult to
stop, despite an abundance of evidence that may surface to the
contrary (yes, we're still putting the 2nd most toxic substance on the
face of the earth in people's fillings).

While the general point seems pretty well true,
to call mercury amalgam the 2nd most toxic
substance is rather inaccurate. Many chemicals
are quite toxic, try say plutonium or many of the
nerve gas chemicals. Further, I'll submit a decaying
tooth is a source of toxins when in the mouth.
This is not to say I am sure an amalgam filling
is fully benign.

It is hard as one person to go back and rethink
every idea learned in school, college, and university.

If you carefully read my post, you'll notice I didn't say that
*mercury amalgam* was the 2nd most toxic substance on earth. I said
we're still putting the 2nd most toxic substance on earth in people's
fillings. See the difference?

Mercury is the 2nd most toxic substance on earth, and amalgams contain
roughly 50%% mercury. My statement is accurate.

Umm, ok . . . and your point is?

Neither is the ADA, but they continue to push it.

Good points

Mercury is toxic, fine.
Amalgum in the teeth apparently exhibits negative leaching for a while.

The mercury scare is primarily bogus in intensity.

Well, actually it isn't, because mercury is not the second most toxic
substance on earth. It isn't even in the top 10.
