This is called the "god of the gaps". Godists change the definition of
the character of god so as to preserve the idea of god whilst trying to
accomodate scientific discovery.
Personally I think the current notion of god is so diminished as to
make it null and void.

As our understanting of natural events grows
our definition of what a god is keeps changing
so as to keep the idea of god out of reach.

Sure it does.
In Genesis, God used to walk around the Garden of Eden (with other Gods,
apparantly) and was quite accesible.
Later on, as that idea became ridiculous, the "gods" were pushed up into the
mountains, where no- one could reach.
After humans were able to explore the highest mountains, God was moved to
the sky.
After exploration of the sky was completed, God moved somewhere else.
Science has been pushing God off the planet for years.
He now lives in yet another undefinable and inaccessible place.
Maybe one day, we could push him out of there, too.

He lives in the same place he's always lived. In the minds of those who
created him.

From what I've seen Vic, that's a fairly undefinable and inaccessible place
too!

Please point out exactly how these-minds is
to be differentiated from not-these-minds.

Up to a point I'd agree with your characterization,
but you seem to be implying an alternative which
I also do not accept.

Basically, I don't see where living in their minds
makes Him any less (or more) real. I don't see
where there is anything special about thought.

Heheh.

You want to percieve the process or feel it?
