This is a classic example of the path people take when they become a
reactionary atheist. Such atheism is based in hate, distrust,
vengeance, pain and despair. Not a good foundation to base atheism on
if you plan to be an atheist.

First let me offer my compassion for the pain that 'I quit everything
now' has suffered. Unfortunately my compassion offers little in the
area of a real and lasting healing from that pain. Such a recovery has
to come from within us. The sooner you can release the control and
expectations 'I quit everything now', the sooner you can let go of the
pain.

Although V really needs to learn how to condense his posts, he makes
some good points on a couple of topics.

I personally have no problem with people declaring themselves agnostic
-- heck, that's how I described myself up until a few years ago -- but
the problem with agnosticism, IMO at least, is that after giving it
some real thought the premise behind it was fatally flawed.

One of the first alarm bells that went off for me when I was young was
the discovery of all these thousands of other religions and gods
throughout history, each one different from the next, also with
believers that believe or believed as strongly as the next. It seems
to me that it's human nature to create gods and religions around them,
and the idea of these gods is generally as a being with man-like
attributes that does all those things that primitive folks couldn't
explain.

i don't know how else to say this.i don't believe in any god anymore.
one of my parents decided to be a selfish fucking piece of
shit..cheated for apparently years with several partners.. lovers..
fuckers.. or whatever the fuck .. then decides to leave us..then on
top of all that decides to seek a divorce and obtained it, thus
destroying my family forever. then heaps on the destruction by
getting
married to one of the scumbags that they fucked around with.

i'll tell you something i used to believe in god..i don't believe in
god anymore.

Voltaire used that [Lisbond] Earthquake as a prop in his major
contribution to philosophy and asked about what is the best possible
world;

One of the most difficult issues confronting believers is the problem
of evil in the world. How can a person possibly believe in a good,
wise and powerful God in the face of human suffering. An answer
sometimes given is that of all possible worlds, this one, a world
where humans have free will, is the best possible world.
