The modern psychiatrist

I have been given this truthful tale delivered to me by men of
impeccable authority concerning the modern fate of those employed as
psychiatrists:

Recently, a psychiatrist (Mr. X) had departed from a life of great
favours and descended into hell. Not seeing any other psychiatrists he
believed that they are all such goodly men, but the angel who
accompanied him said to Satan:

'Hold up thy tail, thou Sathanas! and show forth thine arse and let the
psychiatrist see where is the nest of psychiatrists in this place!'

With that the psychiatrists fly out from Satan's arse and swarmed about
the burning cavern before disappearing joyfully back into that loathsome
crevice.

A timely warning I think? Let us pray for the psychiatrist's sake that
the atheists are right and that virtue and beastliness alike have no reward.

There is no such thing as a psychiatrist these days.
They are pill pushers - drug pushers - this is all they are.

They have no choice but to try to counter the effects of all the
chemicals in the food, water, and air that results from a capitalist
consumer economy.

The reason they are drug pushers is that drugs work,
unlike psychotherapy, which hasn't cured a single case
of mental illness. That's emprically demonstrated; the
effects of psychotherapy alone are the same as no
treatment at all. Note how much emptier our mental
hospitals are nowadays. Empricism; it's what's for
dinner.

Yes, because the glow-in-the-dark three-headed fish in
the Caspian and Black Seas indicate the superiority of
a socialist anti-consumer economy.

Ya, the insane asylums are empty, but where do you think all the
street people come from? And, of course, there's no evidence that
prayer does any good either. Or religion for that matter. Or gurus.

And the dirty little secret about the way pills work, is that it
depends on the biochemistry of the mind, and that in turn depends on
the DNA endowment. Or lack thereof. ergo, different gene pools have
different degrees of success with different chemicals, just like they
have different preferances in recreational drugs, and ... what that
all adds up to is that the races are not, in fact, equal.

The Chinese left us turtle shells that had been ritually baked so that
the cracks mite reveal a message. 5000+ years old. Ceramic copies of
knuckle bones with icons carved on them have been found in SE Europe
7000+ years old. Some of the icons look like runes.

The Oracle of Delphi was proven to always give you the right answer;
you just dont know the right question til later. She told Allyattes
that if he crossed the Halys river, (to fight the Persians) he'd
destroy a great empire. He did. the empire he destroyed was his. When
the Persians were coming, she told the Athenians to "get behind wooden
walls". which they figured out, evacuating the whole city to the
island of Salamis and putting their military muscle in the wood hull
of the trireme.

IIRC both Epictetus and Plotinus have some words of warning about
oracular scams and how one should not consult the gods very often. The
gods have other things to do besides listen to your problems. Dont
become a pest.
