Incidentally - what happened after your visit by one of THE BORG when you
were headed for the kitchen to make a coffee.
He picked you up - which rather surprised you - but they are about 10ft
tall - and then he said (now this is a true story)
"Would you like to play wibbly wobbly men?"
By this time you did not know what to expect next but decided it sounded like
fun
"Yes - why not?" you said

So the Borg started singing
"I'm wibbly" and the moment he started it was as though you knew the song
"I'm wobbly" you sung with a large insane grin on your face
and you linked arms
"and we wibbly wobbly forever"

"I'm wobbly" you sung (and you thought - hey I know this song)
"I'm wibbly"
and you linked arms again
"And we wibbly wobbly together" and you knew all the steps and were dancing
along to the tune

"Wibbly wobbly - wobbly wibbly" you sang
and the walls where you lived disappeared and you found yourself on like a
Yellow Brick Road "Hey this must be heaven" you thought "I have died" and you
were singing away and having such a great time "this is the way it has always
been" you thought "I have always been here - I remember".
And time passed and you had real fun. You wibblied and wobblied and sang and
danced and knew all the words and the steps and visited many places and met
many strange people who all sighed "Ah 'tis the wibbly wobbly men" as if they
all knew also.

Then suddenly you found yourself in your pyjamas back in bed.
"So you see" said the Borg - it is not ALL about serious stuff is it?
"OH NO!" you said laughing and then you continued "er ...er.....would you
like to come back and wibbly wobbly with me again sometime?"
"We shall see" said the Borg - I do not have much time to wibbly wobbly these
days - but maybe next Thursday evening at precisely 9"
"Oh super!" you said
The Borg gave a polite bow from the waist and disappeared.
You looked at the clock and no time had passed at all. You had heard rumours
THE BORG could control time.
And then you wondered if ANY of it had happened.
"But it was so real" you thought - "but how can all that happen and for no
time to pass?"
And then you began to realize that asking questions on qualia - and stories -
were of a different nature to what was impossible.
And you looked out your window at the stars - and wondered again if it was
all one big bubble floating in space - and whether there were other bubbles
and whether there were other people like you who wondered and wondered and if
indeed - wondering about things was maybe a better state than those who said
they "knew." Wondering about things was kind of nice if you know people like
THE BORG are out there - and that if it IS impossible - then how could anyone
know? The words - 'the eternal mystery' came to your mind - something that
Einstein once said - that if you do lose sight of the endless mystery - you
lose what it is all about - you lose the wonder - and that it is the mystery
that is the beauty of it all.
And you wibbly wobbled back to bed and soon were fast asleep and had happy
dreams of rainbows and clouds - and snowfall - and wished they had all
remained mysteries and not been scientifically explained - and that maybe the
more man knows the more ugly things become as one by one the mysteries end as
they are explained and you fervently hoped that The Borg would have at least
ONE mystery that no one would ever find out.
And you hoped this one would be the biggest mystery of all.

Next story
Sir Frederick finds out that matter is not only sentient but aware! He is
shown by the Borg that his favourite coffee cup is no less than his long gone
Uncle Charlie!
