English, as is common knowledge (or should I get out a history book?)
was a developed language out of the Anglo-Saxon Germanic group of
dialects around the time Beo Wulf.
This is around the 10th Century. Chaucer is considered the Father of
English and wrote his famous
Canterbury Tales around the 13th Century.
Modern English is probably in line with how Shakespeare presented it
in his various sonnets and plays.
In the 400 years since Shakespeare, much of the spelling has been
uniformed (to an extent).
Modern English Today, is constantly evolving, and probably has the
most number of foreign terms
subsumed as English, than any other language.
