The latest episode had him write a personality profile on three lots
of six people in their early twenties, each (for effect) in three
diufferent countries. He asked them to write down their birth dates
and then returned and hour later (also for effect) and presented each
with theirs.
The majority said is was accurate between 80 to 99 %% , with one
claiming 40.
He then asked them to swap, and they discovered it was the same
report.
His explaination was that this was a simple example of cold reading,
and informed the groups that this proved how baseless all such
readings are.
He used cold reading to demonstrate there was no such reality as 'hot'
reading. Of course, many people are sucked in, otherwise Mercedes Benz
and BMW would not exist. Experience is the "only" teacher
