Ole farter suggests how to keep from drowning in water over one's
head

Don't try to do an 100 yards of Australian crawl especially if not in
perfect condition

It was what I learned via my university's required physical education
that's been amazingly beneficial to me

The back crawl is one of the most relaxing exercise one can do, and
can even surmount some tiredness

What's A Back Crawl ?

Frog kicks along with sort of "side straddle hop arms" while laying
(gliding) on the water in horizontal position (on one's back)

And for common backache it seems good too

what's this got to do with academic philosophy, schmoe?

The thing that saves swimming is it doesn't take a lot of time. You
can generally wear yourself out before you die of boredom.
