caveat: this is what may be politely called a rant, which implies
frustration-foolishness-futility

and it could happen to you as you age into the dotage years, 60s, 70s,
80s

this ny times article above hints it is the swan song of exceptional
quality regional linear journalism

seemingly there isn't a substantive enough "market demand" for
courageous, well-funded, investigative journalism--if there ever
were

for instance, in my own alta cocker (ole shitter) reactionary
perspective, i skip the troubling-complex lengthy anti-capital
punishment slant articles now appearing in the local liberalistic
atlanta journal-constitution

why? i used to gobble-up such sob sister art, yummy "chicago" for some explanation of the sob sister genre>

well, for one thing, because i've made up my mind, and i'm pretty much
fed up with the apparent indulgence-excusing of murder by juries,
which is seemingly a normative ireflex in the atlanta area

The St. Pete Times has a larger circulation than the Tampa Tribune.
Crackers read it as much as people from up North which just proves
what I've been saying.

The problem isn't with an uneducable public not reading newspapers as
lazy [corp. sponsored] elitists would have everyone believe.

The problem is with the sleazy corp. shill media.

Of the thousands of cowardly MSM journalists contacted, only a
pregnant Charrie Hazard at the St. Pete Times had the courage to print
"The Idea."

Now all I need is a pregnant U. S. Supreme Court justice.

Bast of a Rare Lreed

Doesn't look like a cute pun or play on words.

The number of letters I'll skip between accidentially swapped letters
has increased from one to two over the past decade.

You'ld have to have a unique mind to go three words (10 lettters)
between swapped letters!

Why don't they pay you to read it?

They could credit your account after you pass a multiple choice test.

Google makes money selling _ads_. It's hard to see how the NY Times
could do much worse selling information.

They just aren't thinking at the _Times_.

They stink. Chesapeake, VA turned one down. They were going to --
get this -- _import_ the grain on ships.

Every now and then I'll find out about an ASME paper I'd like to see.
They charge $20 so I try to work around it or talk the librarian into
getting it.

How does ASME make money when so few people are interested in heat
transfer?

well, they apparently decided not to internet (i just made up a verb
by-gosh) it, a UNIQUE profession-vocation-interst esoteric infintely
complex and boring to non math luvers publication, at least for non-
dues paying members or for whatever reason one may be duly and
irresponsibly motivated to beg, borrow or shoplift instead of payinf
the subscrption fee or outrageous membership dues (tax deductible if
sent to very secret box in caymans)

an american society of mechanical engineers publication would not be
"mass media" imho, unless they discretely inject porno, dirty cartoon,
or my semi jokes
